Was that ever up for debate? I mean, what do people believe happens when one takes a creature adapted to breathing through water out of said water?

Well, it's always been a cat and mouse game.

Just earlier today, I got a pop-up on YouTube about how they would block me after 3 videos because I use an ad blocker. Jump to now and everything is fine again. Thank you, uBlock Origin!

Pest control (feddit.org)

Hi everyone, Recently I noticed these little insects on one of my orchids. So far I tried getting rid of them by removing them manually followed by liberal application of soap water. Now they appeared on a second plant so apparently I was not successful.

Any tips?

Given the murky definition of antisemitism which was recently adopted in a letter from parlament, this could lead to some very interesting but uncomfortable situations for the government. Such as revoking citizenship from Jews or Israelis critical of Israels current government.

Tooling Question (feddit.org)
submitted 3 months ago by einkorn@feddit.org to c/woodworking@lemmy.ca

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a project which involves the pictured piece of driftwood. So far I have been cleaning the wood manually with sand paper, but this is quite slow and exhausting. What type of (preferably consumer grade) tools can I use to speed up the process?

When Your Last Name Is Null, Nothing Works

No, when people DON'T PROPERLY SANITIZE THEIR USER INPUT, nothing works!!!

Looks like little Bobby Tables has some extended family.

IMHO Debian and Ubuntu should be swapped: swapped:

Debian as the serious guy, that's doing the hard work under the hood while the flashy Ubuntu gets the credit for being popular.

Hi everyone,

recently, my brother asked me to print some tabletop miniatures for him on my Prusa MK4S. I know miniatures are most commonly printed with SLA printers, but I found some workable advice and so far my first attempts look decent enough.

However, I noticed most models I find are optimized for SLA printing or at least not optimal for printing with FDM due to difficult forms such as sloping and cavities that are hard to support. Also, I mainly print construction and replacement parts and would like to avoid swapping nozzles often. So I started researching SLA printers.

Owning a Prusa printer and liking it very much, I first looked at their SL1S and fell over backwards when I saw the price tag. Having owned an Ender 3 by Creality before, I checked their offers, which are a lot more budget friendly. However, on the other hand, having owned an Ender 3 I know that you get what you pay for: The bare minimum.

Therefore, my main question is: What is a good starter model for printing miniatures using SLA?

My follow-up question is regarding slicing software. I remember reading a couple of years back that SLA printers have no universal format like gcode and therefore slicing software compatibility is a bit of an issue. Is this still the case?

Hello everyone, I am looking for software to write music sheets and tabs. A friend and music teacher uses Guitar Pro, but it's a little pricey for my occasional use.

It doesn't have to be an all-in-one solution. So for example, if you know a piece of software that does just cord visualization that's also highly appreciated.

One solution is community housing where the local government is the landlord and by extend the people in the area.

Another is housing cooperatives, which are groups of people pooling their money to build and operate housing. When joining, you acquire part of the ownership and when you leave you have to sell it.

As is tradition. The first image transferred over the internet-precursor was also a cat picture.

For me, it is a glorified auto-complete function. Could definitely live without it.

As is tradition with MS and their complicated naming policies Visual Studio is not VS Code.

highly controversial figure in Germany

Understatement of the year. Courts have repeatedly ruled that calling him fascist and Nazi is a factual statement. He has been sentenced multiple times for using Nazi rhetoric and symbols.

His local chapter of the AFD party has been labeled "assuredly right-wing extremist" by the Verfassungsschutz which again was upheld by court decision as well.

Well, except Telegram isn't a good tool for privacy.

There is no E2EE. Simple encryption is only available for 1:1 chats and disabled by default. Telegram doesn't disclose their encryption methods, so there is no way to verify the (in)effectiveness. Telegram is able to block channels from their end, so there is no privacy from their end either.
