That's completely not true. Yes, dismantling capitalism is the most important thing we can do to reduce the impact. But you're using some really strong words there. If I ride my bike to work instead of taking a car for one day, that'll reduce the CO2 emitted by about a kilogram. That one kilogram might reduce the severity of some hurricane enough to save a life. And yeah, it probably won't. But what about a year of riding my bike? What about a lifetime? What about installing solar panels at my house? What about not taking a flight? What about eating a vegan diet? Put all that together, I can probably save a couple lives in my lifetime compared to if I just consoomed. And yeah, in between all that, I'm on the streets volunteering for anarchist orgs and building systems to dismantle capitalism.

But the way I see it, fighting capitalism is like trying to win the lottery. It probably won't work in my lifetime. It almost certainly won't stop the climate crisis in its tracks right now. Making these changes in my own life makes me a healthier person with more money and a lighter conscience, and it's guaranteed lives saved. So I'm gonna do both. I'm not gonna bet on achieving communism and only then going through the degrowth that's inevitable anyway. I'm going to degrow my own life right now, so at the very least I'm ready when the communist revolution is complete and it's time to ban cars, and if communism doesn't happen before I die, I can still say with certainty, "I was part of the solution".

Fucking antisemites. Why won't they let people wave the flag of the Semitic nation of Palestine? Classic Nazi antisemitism.

WOW is proof that human beings are biologically programmed to work together to achieve goals. It's a shame capitalism suppresses this desire in people and forces them to only let it out in games. Imagine if we had a society where people's work was properly valued, where they could self organise to accomplish great things.

isn't optimising the games extra costly?

These days compilers can optimise it for the hardware mostly on their own.

I can imagine the annoyance of getting bad reviews on steam because some Dingus is trying to play the game on a 10 year old PC.

Yeah, that's the great thing about PC. You don't have to upgrade your hardware more than once a decade, and you can give feedback to games publishers that chasing ever increasing graphics trends is alienating their customers. You console gamers have to take whatever slop you're given, but us PC gamers don't have to worry about a publisher not supporting backwards compatibility, so we have more market power. We can apply greater pressure on the industry to apply pro-consumer business practices.

Also, something like 30% of PC gamers pirate their games

That's definitely not true. I wish it was.

I think Solo fell flat because they made all the interesting adventures you heard about in the OT happen in a single week. Solo isn't a daring adventurer with a long and storied history, he's a guy who had one exciting week. Also he's supposed to have been a liar when he said he made the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, but Solo retconned it so he was telling the truth. Which means Solo's arc in Star Wars from scumbag to hero isn't as steep or dramatic.

I don't want Christians to love me. I think it's sexual harassment.

The argument from you. The argument constructed specifically by you. Your argument.

It's all The Simpson's fault. They shouldn't have given people of colour human skin tones. Apu should be yellow.

Today's sarcastic mimicry brought to you by someone who underestimated Poe's law

Nah lmao this is greenscreened. The focus on the foreground doesn't match the background, and the background is uniformly blurred.
