"Wow," says a puddle in a ditch. "This ditch is shaped exactly like me. If it weren't for the ditch's precise shape, I couldn't have formed here. I'm really lucky." The puddle, of course, has never seen a puddle in a different ditch and never realised that puddles come in many shapes.

both want it to be easier for people to raise families on single-income.

Nope, that's not true. See, if you make it easier to raise families on a single income, immigrants might do it, and conservatives can't have that. They'd rather cut off their own noses to spite brown people.

As opposed to Epic Games which literally has a contract saying only they can sell the game on PC. I like how you're "opposing" monopolies by defending anticompetitive exclusive licensing deals.

I don't believe in omnipotent or omniscient gods, only normal ones, but I'll bite your hypothetical.

An omniscient god would necessarily have a perfect sense of empathy. They would know what everyone is feeling. And to know a feeling is to feel it, so they would feel every feeling in the world, at full intensity. Obviously such a being would need to be all emotionally resilient as well as all knowing. But they would care for the problems of mortals, because they would feel what mortals do. Perhaps in such a hypothetical, prayers are simply a person attaching a feeling of urgency to their needs, in hope that their god will feel this urgency too and respond.

But of course, I believe in normal gods, so this is all just an intellectual exercise to me.

I disagree with Moore's first point. Hands are a social construct and are not imbued with inherent reality. They gain reality only when observed by a conscious agent.

No it's not. Russian and Chinese state capitalism turned two preindustrial countries into global superpowers in a matter of decades, and lifted unprecedented numbers of people out of poverty. And they weren't even communist! Communism has been tried in places like Catalonia and economically, it succeeded. Militarily, not so much, but only because all the capitalists turned against them. Capitalism is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to lifting people out of poverty.

I'm not doubting you, I'm just a big curious nerd

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_views_of_J._K._Rowling#Transgender_rights

In March 2022, Rowling criticised Labour party leader Keir Starmer who said "trans women are women" in his personal opinion and according to British law. She accused him of misrepresenting the law and said "the Labour Party can no longer be counted on to defend women's rights"

In October 2022, Rowling voiced opposition to the Scottish Gender Recognition Reform Bill aimed at expanding the rights of trans people, calling Nicola Sturgeon a "destroyer of women's rights"

In February 2024, Rowling donated £70,000 to a crowd-funding appeal by For Women Scotland in support of their legal case challenging the definition of "woman". The appeal was started after the UK Supreme Court decided to grant the case a judicial review.[101][102][103] The case is one of many through which For Women Scotland are seeking to overturn the inclusion of trans women with gender recognition certificates in the legal definition of "woman" in some laws in Scotland.

On 13 March 2024, Rowling dismissed the fact that the Nazis burned books on early transgender healthcare during their raids on the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft as "a fever dream" on Twitter. Rowling went on to quote tweet another user's tweet which claimed trans people weren't targeted by the Nazis during the Holocaust. Her comments received widespread criticism, including from Alejandra Caraballo. Some, such as The Mary Sue, accused Rowling of Holocaust denial.

Not all of these are relevant to your question but they seem like the kind of thing you oughtta know

This is actually the opinion of the Bugis people of Indonesia. Only the Bissu, transgender priests, can talk to the gods.

The guy used Xitter, a platform he owns, to promote a transphobic documentary made by Matt Walsh. Matt Walsh's Xitter bio famously begins with the words "theocratic fascist", or, y'know, Nazi. If Xitter has been used to push anti-trans propaganda made by Nazis, who says Starlink won't? I don't think Musk gives a xit about net neutrality.

I hate it. It should be melted down for scrap

He's not a narcissist. pwNPD are a vulnerable minority of disabled people. Elon Musk is a bigoted asshole. Those are opposites.
