The only Ubisoft game I tried was Assassin's Creed Black Flag, and it was the buggiest piece of shit I have ever encountered.

So you're saying that if you shake a crocodile, they explode like a bottle of soda?

Okay, so as a teenager I was a super nerd and got into swords. I took olympic style fencing lessons first, then got into the ren faire and also did some stage combat. Sadly, I have health problems and I couldn't keep my knees in place, and had to quit. The difference between those is probably the same difference between WWE style wrestling, and BJJ. One is done with choreography, one is a competition.

They're both sports. I don't understand why people think the choreography somehow means it doesn't have skills or rules? It was the same skillset, different rules. Stage combat was unpadded and used heavier weapons that left more bruises when we fucked up the choreography. They're different, sure, but the amount of overlap is underappreciated.

They provide three bins, one for glass, one for paper, and one for aluminum. I reuse glass, compost paper, and aluminum gets sold for scrap value, so I get very little use out of my recycling service. I cannot use one of the unused bins for plastic recycling either, I tried.

I hate it so much. It's an absolute mockery of environmentalism.

I think it's because it's great for group messages too. SMS/MMS is kinda shit, especially when somebody has an iPhone and their iMessage interferes (seriously, enough of the 'loved an image' spam). IRC gets blocked on a lot of public networks because of its association with piracy, so that makes it less than reliable.

Discord is pretty full featured too, like IRC doesn't do group calls, and getting a group phone call going is a pain. Being able to have different channels is also super nice, because you can have a channel for, idk, birthday party planning to keep it from vanishing in the general daily chitchat. I've used it with roommates to get everybody on board with a grocery list before, because we all had Discord accounts anyways.

It's just useful enough as a community tool.

To add a voice to the choir, I was raised like this too. We went the other direction of feeling guilty for needing aid though.

Like they weren't completely wrong, you really should be able to raise a family off a single full time job, the problem is that said jobs don't pay enough for that. But the broken system is good at defending itself, and politicians are quick to point out all the ways it does work, so you wind up with a 'well, it works for them, guess I just have to try harder' mindset. Like, I spent hours each week as a teenager helping mom do the extreme couponing and do stuff like take a cart through another line to get around limits on sale items.

I've been shit at math for my whole life, so maybe I'm just hoping I'm not alone in this, but I really think a lot of people are number illiterate. I've spent so much time learning to be grateful for my shoe-string budget, I have a hard enough time envisioning double my salary, and that'd just make me middle class. I literally don't have a way of conceptualizing what 200x my salary would be like.

I think the primary problem comes down to there being enough demand for a breed that unscrupulous breeders will stop taking temperament into account in order to produce more puppies.

Yeah, for some reason I was thinking you were trying to say that bolting on widgets made it no longer a search engine.
