I can definitely agree with this last formulation. But I don’t agree that I need an optimistic outlook into something to do said thing.

  1. Useful to who?
  2. I can tell you that overly optimistic people annoy me to no end, and even tend to have the complete opposite effect on me. Cheerleading, thoughts and prayers BS, rather than acknowledging the suckage that’s happening so we can act on it, doesn’t help me at all.
  3. Debatable
  4. One can perfectly be realistic about its chances at an interview/job and apply and perform well at it and get it regardless…

You seem to be equating realism with pessimism and immobilism, while equating optimism and action. Why?

I use my iPhone with a Bluetooth controller all the time for Moonlight game streaming when my wife or son are using the TV or we’re out of the house. That works just fine. Playing games on a phone isn’t that terrible at all - with the right input method. I’m admittedly considering going for a Pro on my next upgrade, just for the additional screen size for text legibility in some games. And it’s also not my first choice.

However, I’m not about to buy AAA titles on the App Store where I’ll only be able to play the game on my phone…

Eh, from what I could gather from both specs ATProto does address some shortcomings of ActivityPub, so the idea has some technical merit. While a lot of the current Fediverse seems to have settled on AP, it’s not like it’s the be-all and end-all of federated protocols either.

Maybe you’re just talking about the company behind it?

Hot take: “thoughts and prayers” and “doing nothing” are the exact same thing

Interesting! I haven’t had this happen with any speaker or amp in a good decade. I wonder what it is!

Nobody calls it “Sol” except video games and movies. And while you’re technically right, it’s easily fixed by saying “planetary system” instead. Finally, everyone still understood, which is the whole point of language, so I’d say pointing this out is more pedantry than anything. Which, looking at your comment history, seems to be your thing lol
