One of my company's customers is a DoD contractor that uses the government version of Teams, which does require Chromium, unfortunately. Or at least, I haven't found a way to make it work on Firefox yet.

KotOR's console controls can be a bit awkward at times. I haven't played it on Switch, but I originally played it when it released on the OG Xbox. I assume the control scheme is similar. And the graphics are going to be dated, but that's a given for a game from '03. But other than that, I'm sure it'll be a fantastic experience, especially for a die-hard Star Wars fan. It's still my top game of all time, and if you can play it on PC with some graphical enhancement mods, it still holds up really well nowadays.

Haha, yeah, I'm familiar with the work culture in Japan. I've heard from other developers currently working there that it's much better working for newer and/or international companies.

Indeed.

I thought I was getting okay at the basics, but actually visiting Japan taught me that I definitely was not. But I'm starting classes later this year, hope to become fluent eventually.

I didn't even know you could roll back.

On Eternity, not yet. Hopefully an update for that comes soon. But there are other clients that have scaled sort implemented.

I think it'll be really difficult, if not impossible, to hide all Windows-only games, as I believe Steam will still show Deck-verified games and other games that run on Proton well. ProtonDB lets you exclude Linux-native games, so if they have that information, there may be another service somewhere that lets you filter to only include native games, but I don't know of one.

The point I'm making is that you don't have to read 50+ guides anymore. Install a distro with a good gaming track record (Nobara, Garuda, Pop_OS, Bazzite) and play games. Linux gaming has come a long way.

That said, I understand where you're coming from. I'm just trying to say it's easier now than it's ever been before.

It's one of those annoying enemies from Nier Automata, kill it.

All valid points (especially about the idle games, I probably need psychological help, lmao), except that I can now do all of those things with a single device that fits in my pocket. Of course I'd prefer to play games on a monitor or TV, but I don't have those on the go. Except maybe a laptop, but that's much less portable than a phone.

It's not for everybody, that's definitely true. But it works for me, much to my surprise.

You can browse outdated copies of its communities, but no new comments or posts will appear. You can comment on old posts, or make new posts, but the only people seeing them will be users on your instance.

Absolutely, there are two tools I use to do so.

  1. Lemmy Community Seeder - Very customizable tool that by default grabs the top 50 posts in the top 50 communities of the specified instances every few hours.

  2. Lemmony - Less customizable tool that by default grabs pretty much everything. Probably less ideal for larger or more active instances, but my instance has 5 or 6 users, only a couple of which are active, so this tool has been awesome for populating my "All" feed.

I recommend creating a non-admin bot account and using that for these tools.
