We’re getting precious few hints considering we’re almost at the end of the season, hopefully the next couple episodes pick up the pace.

This is going to stretch for multiple seasons lol. We are just at Day 48 right now and no one is equipped to take on the hivemind.

I guess that the hivemind will successfully convert one of the immune ones and it'll start a panic among remaining survivors.

I think it's more like a Genestealer cult. The hivemind virus is to prepare potentially inhabitable planets for future colonization. The food thing lowers the existing population to sustainable levels which also makes handover easier and provides the new overlords with an obedient slave population on arrival.

Nah. It will be like perplexity where they secretly route to cheaper models or limit usage. It's simply not sustainable at 20$/mo.

[-] jackmaoist@hexbear.net 14 points 2 days ago

It is. Top bjp-cool ministers have huge stakes in vehicle and fuel industry. Recently, the government enforced 20% ethanol blending in Petrol which was directly led by a minister who owns an ethanol company whose stock surged by like 500% before they rug pulled it.

Public Transport is dying in the country and they keep building roads every few months on the same location.

Imagine spending $1.4 Trillion for hardware over 8 years that will be outdated every 2 years so it's like spending 150 billion dollars annually on a 20 billion dollar revenue with zero profit. This is when the user base is declining and people have started hating Sam Altman full time.

Bubbles used to be believable.

Fascists have Air purifiers in their buildings and cars

Mostly industry, vehicles, construction and stubble burning.

There are no emission controls in place for vehicles except that it's illegal to use cars older than 15 years in the area.

Real Leftism is dead in India. The political scene is dominanted by right wing fascists and liberals.

Idk why but the air quality dropped 3x(300->1200) in the past 2-3 days again in Delhi.

Good thing that the bjp-cool has managed to label all anti-pollution protests as "Maoist" so nobody dares to protest anymore since the government can and will throw you in jail for a decade without trial.

Most people don't care and are out enjoying the weekend in this lethal air.

Thankfully I have an IPad to send PDFs to sign them.

Huawei has made significant progress along with its Chinese chip maker counterpart, SMIC, as Kirin 9030 has been confirmed as a 5nm chip in a new report.

Last month, Huawei unveiled its latest Mate 80 series featuring Kirin 9030 and Kirin 9030 Pro. This marks the first major release from the Chinese tech giant since 2019, after which it has stopped chip production through TSMC.

Huawei has formally listed Kirin 9030 and 9030 Pro for Mate 80 models. However, it didn’t reveal the processing node, a usual practice for previous chipsets. Instead, Huawei shed light on the performance. It says the Mate 80 Pro Max offers around 42% overall performance improvement, which is around twice compared of the Mate 70 Pro+ featuring the Kirin 9020 chipset.

According to the information, SMIC’s N+3 is achieved through deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography with advanced multi-patterning techniques and without extreme ultraviolet (EUV) access. It unlocks the 5nm chip access but lacks true 5nm nodes in scaling, as mentioned in the report.

DUV lithography operates at a 193mm wavelength, which makes it inferior to EUV at 13.5mm due to its longer wavelength, limiting resolution and requiring complex multi-patterning techniques such as double or quadruple patterning.

This key factor makes scaling a notable issue in SMIC’s case and increases the output cost. For now, Huawei has not published an official statement on this news. To be mentioned, SMIC has to opt for DUV due to advanced EUV tool supplies curbs on companies such as ASML.

As long as it's not a live service I'll play it.

Their last 3 games have been CRPGs so imo they can do whatever they want.

EU Council has passed Chat Control (www.compliancehub.wiki)
submitted 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) by jackmaoist@hexbear.net to c/technology@hexbear.net

The Official Story vs. The Reality

What Headlines Are Saying:

"EU backs away from mandatory Chat Control"
"Denmark proposes voluntary scanning compromise"
"Privacy concerns addressed in revised proposal"

What Actually Happened: On November 26, 2025, COREPER approved a negotiating mandate that creates three interlocking threats to digital privacy:

  • Privatized Mass Surveillance: Making the temporary "Chat Control 1.0" framework permanent
  • Death of Anonymous Communication: Mandatory age verification requiring ID for all digital services
  • Digital Exclusion of Teenagers: Effective ban on users under 17 accessing communication platforms

Why "Voluntary" Is a Lie

The revised text removes explicit mandatory detection orders but introduces Article 4's requirement for providers to take "all appropriate risk mitigation measures" to ensure safety. This isn't a softening—it's linguistic camouflage for the same outcome.

Here's why "voluntary" scanning becomes effectively mandatory:

The Coercive Framework:

  • Providers must conduct risk assessments of their services Risk categorization determines whether services are "high risk"
  • "High risk" services face mandatory mitigation obligations
  • Voluntary scanning is explicitly listed as a mitigation measure in determining risk category
  • Translation: If you don't "voluntarily" scan, authorities classify you as high risk, which triggers mandatory mitigation measures that include...scanning

As one privacy expert put it: "You are not required to volunteer to scan—but your required mitigation measures may include scanning voluntarily. This is logically impossible. Voluntary ≠ a component of required obligations."

Not only can it have 24x7 camera access, it can read your texts and call logs.

And with it coming pre-installed on android phones, it may even have root permissions which means that it can do anything on the device.

Note the ability to read and modify storage. This is entirely so the government can plant anything on your phone and arrest you later. Perfect solution to curb any political dissent since most courts in India are controlled by the RSS now and you won't even get a trial for years.

They have made it "deletable" officially but if it has root access then it won't go away. It still comes pre-installed and the tech illiterate population won't do shit against this.

And considering how bad security is in the bjp-cool's apps, this is the equivalent of giving hackers unlimited access to mobile devices of billions of people.

Can't believe that I would have to go to Vietnam to buy a phone now.

Fucking piece of shit Sam Altman should be executed on a wooden plank and his corpse should be displayed on a public square for the next 100 years.

I was saving up for building a pc but at this point I'd rather just throw my money in a fire than buy RAM or SSD. Even Apple has better Ram pricing than these goons.
