"und so weiter" which is a phrase that literally has no English equivalent. It's so special and unique and conveys a feeling of....

Nah, just kidding. It means "and so forth."

(This comment is informative and not directed at OP, who I'm sure already knows this.)

I got a better paying job. Pretty much every aspect of my life has since improved.

We could always make one up. Zungenfreude, tongue joy.

Der Spruch „Vielseitig” hat mir immer Zungenfreude bereitet.

Saying "versatile" always gave me tongue-joy.

Edit: it's pronounced "tsoong-en-froy-duh"

I'm currently reading "All the Knowledge in the World: A History of the Encyclopedia" by Simon Garfield. It mentions a similar thought held by some around the time of the creation of the Encyclopedia Brittanica. (Late 1700s, if I recall correctly)

There were too many books, and they were being printed by just anyone. Who needs a really long dictionary, anyway?

Alcohol also increases your blood pressure, and that has nothing to do with the liver. Still wouldn't be a good idea to be drunk all the time.

But the dairy farmers have said they're not milking sick cows! What else could they possibly do?

So, I'm also a layman. I have been following bird flu news articles since the massive wild bird deaths started.

For what it's worth, it didn't just start jumping to mammals recently. It's been infecting aquatic mammals for a while. I believe European minks and goats were infected even before that. Luckily, the virus doesn't currently seem to be infecting the lungs of cattle. Similarly, the one human who contracted it recently had no respiratory symptoms. It seems he touched a cow and then touched his eye, causing the spread.

Based on articles I've read, it won't be a problem for humans until the virus infects the upper respiratory tracts of humans easily.

However, with cattle farmers seemingly taking no precautions other than not milking sick cows (and I'm not even sure I believe that, honestly), it may just be a matter of time before that happens. Every infected cow is a place for the virus to spread and mutate.

"Which hand do you wipe with?"

[They answer]

"Huh, that's gross. I use toilet paper."

That's half a carton (5 packs) a day some days. Even the most dedicated smokers I know only do about 2 packs a day. (I don't smoke, but I used to sell them.)

It's a pity that other languages weren't voice acted. I understand it would probably be prohibitively expensive with a game like this.

I was sitting in a friend's couch one day, and I said to him, "you're awfully jittery today." To which he replied, "I have Tourette's."

I had no idea. His tic was to twist his head slightly to the right. Fairly subtle.
