Upgrading 41->42 for silverblue requires a branch change. An upgrade won't do it.

Their x86 fabs are producing a 5 yr old Intel node, and with unknown defect rate. This is about getting down to the modern node size to (eventually) to get competitive with the two major ARM nodes.

It wasn't even a final peace state, so it could easily have been pushed sideways in the future, and clearly the Americans wanted the win so badly that they would have let anything happen at the finish line.

This. The narcissistic crisis of a man his age is all consuming. He doesn't care about the external as long as he can play a game with it that he can use to maintain his internal. Anybody who knows this game can play him.

It also doesn't matter 'cause they got elected, so they don't care anymore. They'll spend the next two years transferring as much power to the Whitehouse as possible, so that it doesn't even matter in the midterms. The very clearly will try to get a third term movement going. It's straight out of the Hungarian and Belarussian playbook - it's not fantasy.
