No thanks, I'd rather entrust the security of the end of civilization to floppy discs.
So wages are up 40-50% as well, right?
Right?
Even within European countries the level of care a person receives at one hospital compared to another can be shocking, and that's ignoring the class based healthcare systems most European countries have.
I know someone who had a serious but not uncommon form of cancer. The local cancer clinic said there's nothing to be done. The clinic just 40km away had a treatment plan ready to go, which was successful in the end.
Wait, what. I thought Biden was riding that "kill all Palestinians" train all the way to his grave. Or is the feud about Netanyahu not being aggressive and murderous enough to wrap this up before October?
China is the only country which currently has both the means and motivation to do something about that. In fact, they are doing something about it.
I can't for the life of me distinguish neoliberal economics from fascist economics.
Copying my comment from elsewhere in this thread:
Individual encounters may have to do with the declining mental faculties of geriatrics, but the superstructure of the capitalist class (who are the ones pushing the stories about foreign interference and terrorists and red/yellow/brown scare all that pro-empire propaganda) that must change. Voting in yet another capitalist sponsored imperialist drum beater (the only type of candidate that's allowed to run for election) who's a bit younger than these should-be seniors home residents won't change anything at all. Pointing the finger at the advanced age of elected officials is a distraction, simple as that.
Looks like a cool app but it's super unpractical and hacky to self host and you can't even use a bunch of features when it's deployed that way.
In terms of dramas you may find In the Name of the People interesting.
For documentaries, I've recently seen mentions of How Yukong Moved the Mountains, although I haven't yet found a place to watch it.
There's also a large collection of leftist movies which includes fictional dramas and documentaries about USSR and PRC over on hexbear. https://hexbear.net/post/9615
Edit: CGTN also has some good documentaries on modern and historical events.
The leadership absolutely saw this coming, not only that but they have aided the whole process. Current cabinet members such as Baerbock and Habek were trained by US institutions to serve those institutions and the US capitalist class.
The author and maybe website are a bit too Maoist in my opinion, but there's some good information and analysis in the article.
This line in particular made me chuckle, especially with the one current thread here about centrists just being conservative liberals.
When it comes to nationalism, why should electors choose weak, liberal versions when they can vote for the real thing?
Canada has delayed expanding the euthanasia program to people with mental illness until they can come up with a satisfactory definition for mental illness. It should happen in about two years. At that point I imagine applications will skyrocket, because mental health care in Canada is basically non existent.
Until then, you can apply if you're terminally ill, chronically suffering, or just poor. In fact poor people suffering from disability are often pushed into applying.
