These models always assume that direct carbon capture technologies will extract ridiculous amounts of the CO2 out of the atmosphere.

Also 3C will be devastating as is though. That's not including biodiversity loss, ocean acidification, and rising sea levels.

Even if they raise hotel prices 50%, they'll still be cheaper than hotels in other massive cities. If people don't mind paying $300/night in Paris or London, they'll be okay with paying $150-200/night in Barcelona.

But per capita, China is pumping way less greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere than the USA. And much of China's industry only exists to sell cheap goods to Western countries.

China also built more high-speed rail in a decade than the US has in it's entirety. Not to mention how fast they're producing electric cars and solar panels.

Not blind hate. AI will be devastating to the environment for to it's power and water consumption. We need to ask ourselves if the future water wars will be worth the corporate profits.

If they didn't sell oil, there wouldn't be a giant, pseudo-city in the desert. Those people would probably build elsewhere, if at all.

Yes they should, but they should be positive consequences. Things such as bail money, legal support, and funding to continue the good fight without fear of homelessness.

The electric banners around the field regularly have betting ads scrolling by.

Also, many teams have a betting company as their shirt sponsor, which gets regular air time.

Add in the fact that donations can also be funneled into political campaign funds... And you get one America.

I learned to repair a carburator for a vintage motorcycle with my dad. I bought the bike with the carburator in a box for $300. I probably put around $500 more into it of which new tires cost around $200.

That was more than 3 years ago and still ride it today. I've done done some maintenance work myself, like changing the oil, brake pads and fluid, and other minor things.
