I think you got the response we all expected you'd get.

I wonder why we don't hear about open source anti-virus even though I think there are a couple of them out there.

24 kibibytes. I dislike the annoying difference between kiB and kB, etc, etc as I also think in kB and MB as the binary values because that's how I was taught for many years.

The comic book strips on Lemmy seem to be depressing.

Rootful docker and rootless docker can be run at the same time on the same machine too. So projects that require root privileges can still work on a machine where most other projects run as rootless.

I don't use Reddit as much as I used to since the API change. I also don't use Lemmy much either. It feels different since that moment to me. Both feel quite divisive and don't get me wrong, Reddit was divisive before the change but it feels like it's got a lot worse.

I think you misunderstood what I've said.

It wouldn't be so bad if the memes were good and at least sometimes original.

I don't ever see cars disappearing until we figure out some sci-fi level of transportation. ICE is clearly going to fade out of existence in the next 20-30 years, but there'll still be cars on the road - just hydrogen/battery powered.

Is Lemmy supposed to be privacy focused, or is that what some claim? And if so, how is it supposed to be privacy focused?

The insurance waiver is a gold mine for them. A good friend of mine works for a national car rental company in my country. He was telling me that they attempt to hard sell the waiver because they make a lot of profit on it.

My thoughts on it are, I'm a careful driver, I haven't had an accident yet. The waiver can be just as expensive as the car depending on what you rent and the period of the rental. I'm happy to 'take the risk' because in the long run I'll be less out of pocket even if I do have to pay the excess once in a while.
