I try to avoid the play store at this point. I even switched Tasker from the Play store version to the standalone non-google APK from João himself (Patreon-exclusive; or you can email him for a license, it's like $4).

Any time I implement an open-source project that offers an Android app, I immediately search their github/gitlab or F-Droid. I don't even try to look on the play store anymore. Too much tracking bullshit.

A sensible response. Windows has its pros, and Linux has its cons. I personally don't care for Windows anymore, but that's because I grew up with Linux in the home alongside Windows, ultimately chose Linux despite the cons.

I was already frustrated, so I walked over and basically yanked it from him, saying something to the effect of "no don't worry I'll get it" in a very "you're part of the problem" tone.

I don't care if settings are done by GUI or terminal, I just want clear and concise descriptions for specific settings and not a condescending "go read the man pages you fucking noob".
