G1 and G2 got hot. G3 less so, and G4 seems to be doing pretty good, though it does get warm at times, especially when loaded.

The G4's thermal profile kinda reminds me of my old Nexus 4's Snapdragon S4 Pro. I loaded that bitch down and watched it soar over 100C many, many times 😅. I undervolted it so it ran a bit cooler. It was truly the perfect device at the time.

Ultimately it comes down to your personal experience. There are going to be people who shit on everything that isn't a top-tier Snapdragon. Don't listen to them. I wouldn't even worry about benchmarks for mobile CPUs - at this point, those are only for people who want to shove it in everyone else's faces.

You do realize that Bill Gates hasn't been involved with MS for many years now, right?

You don’t want to be able to easily edit photos on your personal machine?

That's called MS Paint. It already exists.

You don’t want to be able to do a reverse image search right from explorer?

No! Why would I want more shit calling back to the mothership about my files on my personal computer?

And you’re against people having the option to do these things…..why?

When did I ever say that?

Yes, I am painfully aware. Unfortunately, this doesn't actually help.

Google itself started in 1998, and launched their ad stuff in 2000. They've essentially always been an advertising company.

Sweet, sweet analytical data....

Heh, I got hit by that stupid thing today. Luckily the crosswalk button was right there, so I ran over and smacked it before the traffic signal cycled again.

Too bad, that long-term users still kind of decide the fate of the company (as shareholders at some point realize that their share probably is not worth it).

Yeah, that's really the kicker, isn't it? Legally beholden to the shareholders who demand short term profits forever and ever, risking the loss of long-term customers.

It's a guaranteed death.

Because they can. I have the same gripe.

Hush you 😅

My wife's 2017-era MacBook Pro (with soldered SSD and RAM 🙄) has a mystery battery drain that'll kill it within 12 hours, even on sleep mode. And I just installed a new battery in it... What an absolute pain in the ass - both the battery and the mystery sleep mode draw. Really loving Apple's walled garden about now... /s
