Personally, I don't this will have much success because titok is driven by algorithms and influencers...it's built for lazy scrolling consumers that follow the latest trends. People that use it don't care about the data privacy or ethics of it, they just want to know what the latest song or dance craze is ... Add to that ease of use to add graphics and music tracks. Also reach is everything.
That's the linux tax again...w a free OS no less 🤦♂️
Well regardless, the world needs alternatives that are outside of restrictive US patent law and large monopolistic control. Thank god for pioneers:)
I saw this coming, with no easy way to cancel the monthly subscription and decided to pay with a prepaid credit card instead...glad I did, it saved me from getting robbed.
Well that's cool:). Remove the profit motive/surplus goes a long way to slow down evil.
The part I love the most is that the US is taking such a huge financial hit to defend against relatively inexpensive attacks. It seems so fitting that the worlds richest nation can be bled like this.
Bucky was right once again with his theory of "Ephemeralization" https://dbpedia.org/page/Ephemeralization ... The only reason we're concerned with these companies employing Devs and spending Billions to do what small teams of FOSS are able to achieve is simply a bad economic system that requires "make work" or Bullshit jobs for wages to feed the parasite class, instead of us living like the Jetson's. Time to move one!
Light rail is infinitely more expensive to construct and it only takes one delay/accident and all subsequent trains after cause a log jam...vs a bus which can route around it.
A better solution uses corridors dedicated to buses that are electric powered.
Something like this was done in Colombia with these routes being connected by ground hubs, similar to subway stations.
Time for #abode , I want to believe ;)
Owncast, the foss twitch alternative, is an incredible project and they've been looking for design help for quite some time... https://owncast.online/
Of course this is true, but moving to a privacy respecting OS, like linux or buying a phone w a custom ROM installed goes a long, long way to improving the situation.
Such a great take:)
