I am not sure this is a wide spread behavior among the IT. Reading the "Debian Free Software Guidelines", we could have some doubts. My point is not that free software are good or bad, but that is not enough. If we want te be responsible as producers, we have to organize as such to stop production that killing us (with climat change or military for example) and promote the one that emancipate us. Free software are a way to achieve the last one, unions the fist one

I do agree, but in case of violence, I'd rather have the control of food, logistics, communication and ammunition by our side. That's a "lesser violence" plan
Vote or don't but organize internationally
I'm not from the US, and no, I'm not feeling safer with liberal or not. Imperialism is pretty much the same. I don't know what is worse, but I'm sure that in both cases, it would worthless if you have not a strong anti-imperialist and organized movement inside an international organization.

Judges and Justices are not that precise. They aim to preserved public order before anything else. If a whole industry is based on a questionable interpretation of patent, they is a lot of chances that judges would agree on it. Even in countries where you could not patent algorythm, industries patent the documentation, the "software design", the brand name, the illustrations used, and aggregates everything together, to say they own it. And it works.

We couldn't have non capitalist state with imperialism However, if we consider countries without state, we shall consider EZLN and the Democnatic Confederation in Rojava. Both have very interesting approach of eco-socialism.
