I'm a vet also. Never felt the need for a gun as a civilian, but November changed that for me.
They're just gonna sit around and wait a few months until they are begged to come back and can demand more compensation. The current generative AI, which is not general AI, will not be able to replace high functioning jobs. Eventually, a lot of those software engineers will be asked back and get much more for their services.
Using Lemmy requires some modicum of understanding in technology. Most conservatives I've encountered tend to be technology-ignorant at best, and technophobic at worst. You don't see as many differing political views on Lemmy cause some/most conservatives are too inept at technology or can't be bothered to figure it out.
Reddit was just easier to get into, and as much as I personally like Lemmy, it's a hard sell to some from the outset. If the signup could be simplified (which I understand federation and why it can't be that easy), we could see an influx of more outdated viewpoints on the platform.
I also agree with others who have stated that most "conservative" philosophy involves denying rights to those who have only recently (last 50 years or so) been afforded rights equal to their own. I'm also growing increasingly suspicious of how much lead was actually used in the products consumed by boomers and some Gen-x before its use was known and most of it banned or removed from products. It seems too many in their late 40+ are going from normal human being with empathy towards others to RAGING MAGA CONSPIRACIST, seemingly overnight.
"We lost" to a career politician, of whom does really great with prepared, political settings, but sucks monkey balls at any setting involving normal human interaction. Waltz has never seemed that comfortable with prepared talking points, he's too much of a dad, and exudes that down-to-earth vibe that hopefully resonates with some voters who don't like career Democrat politicians, but feel what Waltz has to offer all.
Vance is a politician, Waltz is a neighbor. Vance does well in official, political settings, that's all.
Definitely bed. Not affiliated in any way but AmeriSleep makes the best bed and pillows I have ever slept on. Hands down no comparison. It's the perfect combo of firmness and conformity.
Yeah right, we all know you have a single copy of digital items and you can either put it here or there, but not both. That's why NFTs were such a success! /s
Not sure why you're getting down voted so much. We have no truly leftist or left of center parties in this country. We have fascism-lite and status quo right.
When Nixon won he won by a super large percentage. Almost all the states were red. Look at the electoral map for Nixon's win, if you can find it, it's shocking. You know why it looked like that? The DNC ran a progressive candidate. And they've not done that again since.
Not saying Dems aren't better, by far they are, but they aren't progressive and we can't expect them to enact progressive changes.
Just gotta keep voting for the lesser of the evils until these dinosaurs either retire from, or die in, office. It's sad, it's frustrating, but it is all we can do for now. Keep voting for the party not actively rooting for a dictatorship and we might make it through this.
I love The Satanic Temple and totally approve of their methods. Their way of trolling the Christian rights' insufferable need to put their dicks into everything, is what I live for! They do so much good for their communities. They're the "troll" version of humanists.

I keep seeing this said on these sort of posts, like the average voter has anything to do with the voting system being used or has the power to change it. Those with the power to change would never change the voting method. They would almost assuredly gain nothing and lose almost everything.
This isn't a direct rag in you, personally. I just don't know how to expect the wolves to accept the addition of other predators in the hen house. Obviously, it takes a unified electorate to get change like this via elected officials with simple goals and they've spent the last several decades hyping up wedge issues for people to fight each other over that no one could ignore those things to vote and push for a change to the national voting method.
Just like the president not having the power that the electorate believes them to have, I'm just too cynical, now, to expect anything positive to change before I die of cancer from some shitty corporation that wants to cut corners to add some zeros to their bank accounts.
It'll only work if you use three Bonds' in a trench coat!
Right? I look forward to showing them how many of us "libtards" own guns and know how to use them. I'm glad their side is so inept that they blindly regurgitate a lie that will almost certainly end in a surprise version of the "find out" part of "fuck around and find out." Man I hate a good portion of the population here.
This movie took me completely by surprise by how good it was. I feel like you could tell everyone involved had experience playing TTRPGs, from the director, to the writer(s), all the way down to the catering crew!
