I agree it woudl be a big ask even if the platforms could support it. I don't precieve anytime that it would even be a good idea to directly encourage such behavior. The #twittermigration and #redditmigration where natural occurences that hit the 'verse hard. I believe they were a net good for ActivityPub and Free Software as a whole, but for many users the hiccups at that time where enough to sour them to "decentralization."

"last produced in 2012" I dont' know that doesn't sound too old to me. Find me a used toyota camy/corella that I can actually afford and I'll buy it.

Is that hyperlink a bad copy/paste or is there some connection there that I'm not understanding?

I can only speak for myself, but I used to love to get home from work and contribute to free software projects I found interesting. Since I got a good paying tech job at a big company, the last thing I want to do is more of the same when I get home. (having kids around the same time probably had an influence too).

Its almost like they should just remove migration restrictions and allow people to move freely instead of politicians playing politics to get the votes of stupid old people.

"There are more people working than ever before" that is exactly what economists mean when they say there is a labor shortage, there are not many unemployed people. Higher wages alone won't change that. It mostly just shifts around who is employed by whom. To actually build a larger work force you need not only higher wages, but making it easier for those who don't work to do so like young people and those currently residing in other countries.

No, she was not just keeping busy amid the Iowa cold spell — she was preparing to host at least 35 people in her home on caucus night.

Ms. McNutt, the mayor of Silver City, Iowa — population 245 — and her husband, Gary McNutt, have been hosting caucuses in their home every two years since 2002.

“I consider myself a professional,” Ms. McNutt said.

This year they hosted the state’s last living-room caucus — the only one to occur in someone’s home, out of 1,657 Iowa Republican precinct locations. On Monday, the McNutts set up chairs they had collected over the years from garage sales and dollar stores, and placed them amid recliners and tables lined with knickknacks. Their new Siamese kitten, Stella, slunk between chairs as caucusgoers trickled in and sat down on Monday night.

Ms. McNutt said that in 2016, 50 people showed up to caucus, more than she had expected, so she ran around the house trying to find enough chairs. Someone called her “the chair lady” that night, she remembered.

“You’ve been called worse,” Mr. McNutt said with a laugh.

Ms. McNutt said this was the coldest caucus she had ever hosted.

“It was cold before, but not this cold,” she said. She added that if any voters needed a blanket, she would find one for them, and that she would have the fireplace running all evening. Image

Should I be concerned before I share a video I downloaded from a site I needed to log in to with a username and password? Does the file I have include data that references my account? If so is there away to remove it before I share it?

Signed I am tired of feeling like I don't contribute to the community.

Yeah the North American higher education industrial complex is a scam. To the point that a lot of the better paying jobs (doctor, nurse, etc.) include having requirements to pay the school to work for a time without getting paid AND they forbid you from having an additional job at the same time, it sure seems to me like they are trying to make sure that "lower class" people never get in those kinds of jobs. Unless your parents are rich, you aren't going to be able to do that.
