I believe the main issue is not just the CO2 being released. But it exacerbating coming dust bowls with toxic substances. Salt lakes have many toxic minerals.

Cmon man… Sure it had issues, but acting like Cities Skylines didn’t completely revolutionise city builders is insane.

Ah yes, the legendary capitalist freedom to go homeless and die of preventable diseases. And the awful authoritarian communism of providing full employment and eliminating poverty.

If you don’t think the USA is the most authoritarian country ever, your definition of authoritarianism is useless.

Americans’ problems with density can be summed up by: shit construction with hollow walls, neoliberal financialization and shit infrastructure.

So basically all political issues, and nothing to do with density. But the ideology of antisocial subarbanism is still very strong, so people are a bit incapable of actually understanding the material reality of the situation and just reduce it to urban = bad.

Is that fair tho..? All culture is bastardised in the Dune universe. Western or Eastern. It shows such a distant future that anything that seems familiar upon closer inspection is truly alien.

The Atreides are “Roman”, but they really are not right? The whole culture of Caladan for example is like a generic “utopian” bucolic Western European medieval vibe. It’s in itself a bastardisation of “western culture” no? Like an “occidentalist” view in a way.

Except that’s not true? China had much worse famines before the communist revolution, and both China and the USSR never had a famine after the ones you are thinking about.

Meanwhile, we hear every 5 years that hundreds of thousands of people will die of hunger on the Horn of Africa, that millions of people are food insecure at the seat of capitalist power (the US, UK etc.). We see breadlines in the UK, families going hungry because of foodstamp cuts.

And then you see Vietnam, China, Cuba… and they have eliminated famine. Not hunger, but famine. Meaning there are no food insecure people. The USSR had done the same before it collapsed. People in the USSR had better food security than people in the US after the 50s.

You basically don’t know what you’re talking about and are just repeating propaganda points from the Cold War. It’s vibes based ideology, no facts or science.

Also a 19 year old who never dated vs. a 19 year old who dated a few different people already.

Relationship experience is important to help us be safe in our relationships…

What can you expect from a country where a “billionaire” like Trump’s favourite meal is fucking McDonalds or “Steak”.

All forms of capitalism benefit the capital owning class. They created this system exactly to do that.

From the state, to nationalism, to the police, to banking and finance, wage labour etc etc. It’s all capitalism and it’s all to benefit the capital owning class.

How the hell would it be any other way?

Everything we have that make this shit more liveable was won with blood by leftists, syndicalists, communists, anarchists etc. The 8 hour workday, weekends, benefits, minimum wages, public health…

There is no capitalism that is good for “everyone else” ever. Why would the system controlled by capital owners benefit anyone but them??
