Downvoted, who the hell recommend Kali as the first desktop. It is not even intended for desktop usage.

Five and eleven eyes doesn't matter if the service is encrypted and open sourced. Also, did you know that Switzerland has no superior privacy laws comparing to Germany? It's all marketing bluff.

Btw if your password is similar like on the meme, consider using pass managers like KeepassXC, Bitwarden or 1Password /end of the laugh and learn segment/

Yes, it's good, however you need to be more specific with your query for DDG to return good result.

If you're interested in other privacy respecting search engines, there's Searxng and Kagi (paid).

Honestly, it's scary. For people that are unaware, there's an amazing resource on privacy-respecting alternatives to popular services and softwares: https://www.privacyguides.org. They are also on Lemmy if you have any question.

I mean, it is possible that instance admins will be able to show advertising on ones instance, but you will be able to find dotation based, ad-free instance instead. Lemmy as a whole won't be monetized, only a particular instance. But it's only my guess

But they fixed the issue, and documented on why it happened and how it got fixed on their blog. Pretty transparent to me.

It's a shame downvotes are turned off.

Missing lots of features. Proton does not prioritize Linux at all

[-] palebluedot@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 1 year ago

I advice anyone against switching for now, especially if you're using KeePass or Bitwarden. Proton Pass has just been released, meaning it is not audited and it's immature. I would not trust it with my passwords just yet.
