I remember one time that I was in a traffic jam in the city that I was not familiar in. There where two lanes. I needed to go to the right so I went to the right lane. I waited and waited. The left lane already were driving. And then the car in front of me turned off his lights. The person left the car. Weird.. I was between parked cars. I was there for a good 10 minutes.
Maybe woodworking? It can get dusty and you need some room but you can also make smaller things that don't need big power tools or a lot of room. Like miniature things.
Or computer programming. Create an app. Or do something fun like follow one of the coding challenges from the YouTube channel The Coding Train
What I do is two things
- Go to the All view and block each community that has memes.
- subscribe to commutes that you like.
This ways, all your views are meme-free.
Bonus tip for finding new commuties: create a new account and go to your All view. Every post you see, check if you like the community. If you like it, subscribe to it on your normal account and then block it on your new account. The new account works kind of like check off system. Each community that you made a decision on (subscribe or don't care) will no longer be visible on the new account. This way, other communities that are smaller will also be revealed.
I need to stay awake some time during the night to feed the baby or support my wife doing it. I always fight against the sleep and that is when the pre-sleep dreams are really getting weird. What is happening a lot is that I read something and half way the sentence I fall half asleep and at that point, my mind completes the sentence(s) with the weirdest things.
Only 10 generations away (about 100-150 years), you already have 1024 ancestors. 20 generations and you have 1.048.576. And 30 generations get you 1.073.741.824.
In 1500 the world only had 450.000.000
This example only shows the direct family line (parents of parents of..) and no descendents of brothers and sisters.
And the world did not start 500 years ago
Needless to say, we are all a bunch of inbreds
That was an awesome game. I remember playing it with my friends and if you hit the top 10, we would write our name with 'the best'.
It also had a level editor. I created one with a lot of jumps.
Good times!
How I'm reading it, is that all Lemmy v0.18 servers (and lower) will no longer work with Voyager v2 web app. And Lemmy v0.19 does work. But I might be wrong..
Here is the changelog text
The next release of Voyager will be v2. Voyager v2 will break support for lemmy v0.18 for progressive webapp clients! This is due to CORS limitations where web clients cannot set a custom Cookie header for backward compatibility, and the new v0.19 lemmy-js-client removes authentication via the auth url param.
- make a boilerplate/starter project for something. For instance a java project that has a api so implement Swagger, json, some example endpoints, etc. That way, if I start a new project I don't have to first configure it all and think about what dependencies I need to implement.
Or one for css or Angular. Just implement the basic style for buttons, text, menu's etc and adjust where needed. A bit like Bootstrap but then more basic
- make a private website where combine all your (future) tools/projects. Like some calculate (km to miles, whatever), some links to other projects, a page to your servers/services (kodi, plex, sabnzbd, etc)
I wonder if it has something to do with the framework you pick. There are probably frameworks that aim to be as stable as possible but lack the cutting edge.
But why? If Twitter is something he and his friends do not like it would be a better move to censor everything instead of pushing the users to other Twitter alternatives and spread the same message over there. Controlling is more valuable than pushing the users away.
One of the GTA games (I think it was 4) made you random drunk. No way to driving/walking/flying in a straight line.
No, I have the same experience. Especially if you want to search for local stuff in my country. It is like my country (Netherlands) does not exist Kagi.
For general topics it is ok I guess. I do have premium but I am barely using it anymore. I use Qwant.
