Wine - it is full of marketing gimmick and usually the mid range is best. The same is with whisky, rums and other alcohol.

On the other hand, at least here, is better to pay premium for craft beer.

I am no expert, but I think that it's more off road than most of the M'rican tanks (especially the Cybertruck)

Sorry for linking Czech article.

Basically the same arguments as always "think of the childrens" and "this doesn't represent Russian values".

It is game about Czechoslovakian legions after 1917 revolution. Basically they occupied trans-siberian railway, won few naval battles (as a land lock country we have 100% win rate in naval battles lol) and were evacuated from Vladivostok.

This one is near Slavonice part of light bunkers museum. I don't know if it wasn't covered or if it is uncovered as a part of exhibition.

Near Vratěnín there is this one part of art project Bunker Cut. More on this here: https://www.ondrejbelica.net/bunkercut

Near Bratislava there is this one in flood prone region. Double deck let's you use the higher level while lower level is flooded.

And some NCD use I found for them. It is excellent wind cover when you need to make dinner on the road.

So I have "new" bike (subjectively) about 9 months. And I spent about 2000 € on it (bike, and some accessories - rack, bags...) and I can tell that it is lot of bike for not that much money.

So now when I look back I can't see it as "expensive" bike, just as reasonably priced for its purpose. I use it every day to commute and as bikepacking/touring bike so now it has ~6000 km.

So how much are you willing to spend on bike?

Edit: So I read your comments and I probably need to clarify little bit.

  • I use the bike for everything instead of car so even nicer more expensive bike for me is justifiable.
  • I also think that the bike industry is bonkers right now about shiny new expensive things.
  • For me there is few types of riders and all parties try to upsell them some shit, there aren't any 500€ bike with flat bars and rigid fork where I am. All of the bikes at this price point have shitty suntour fork, bad saddle, useless pedals and shitty tires. From my perspective they are expensive on the parts that don't matter and cheap out on stuff that matters. If someone sell something like that (flat bar gravel with quality parts where it matters) it would be gamechanger.
  • I had to build my bike, nothing like that (full steel gravel/bikepacking/do it all bike) wasn't on the market/second hand market. It add to the price a bit. And it was about month before the prices get down to reasonable levels after pandemic.

It will be probably more. I talked with sysadmin from some smaller provider in my country few months ago. And he told me that the migration will take them for most systems about 2 years (depreciation of hardware) and for some machines about 5 years.

So lot of customers are in process of replacing it but it will take multiple years.

I am not surprised, they (ruling party) bank on polarizing people, attacking journalists and populism/prorussian reathorics.

I just listened to their press conference and they just pour gasoline on this situation. Like I nearly vomited hearing the accusations of journalists, opposition parties...

I love that half is in metric and other half has pounds, foots and quarts.

My metric wired brain just don't understand it.

I and my brother did some math about cars.

We both work and have money for car but just insurance, technical and emissions control... is more expensive than public transport ticket (for one year in our city). And we didn't count in petrol and parking.

In short for us it just doesn't make economical sense to own one.

I unintentionally grow weed because I made some tincture for grandma.

Now it just grows on my garden and I can't get rid of it.

As long as power hungry people exist. It is basically easiest thing to implement in your politics and get people behind you.
