Apologies if i'm wrong, isn't it puritanism

I took it as satire too, but what tells it's /v/ ?

Toki pona. End of discussion.

Well, maybe, but i've been thinking about turning tokens into words and all that fun stuff (disclaimer, i am against any kind of llm and the similar misuses of that technology) and most importantly, about how directions in this high dimensional space seem to encode true semantical dimensions.

Like how king + woman - man = king + "vector direction associated with feminity = queen (higly simplified)

This brought me to the realization that all languages have a measurable (maybe not exact but at least rough estimate) number of semantic dimensions (usually way lower than the number of words in said language).

Which then made me wonder :

-> How few semantic dimensions do you need for a functionnal conlang ? (i imagine it would be two (binary) but i would be happy to hear your counterpoints)

-> how many words per semantic dimensions do you need to get by and is there a reason why human language have so much "redundancy" (why not have "word for magnitude + word for semantic direction" ad nauseam ?)

And last but not least, can you make a language with only 3 semantic dimensions and speak in rgb colours ?

TlDR : how many semantic direction do you need to make a language ?

Per comment request, here are some links if you found this interesting and want to learn more :

About turning words into vectors :

-> This lesson by 3b1b and all of the related one give a firm grasp on the inner workings of neural networks and llms, which can help debunk bs online andloosely introduces the technology of turning words into vectors (there is a videoversion if you can't bother reading )

->This article which only deals with word embedding (see section 3 for what i'm specifically talking about

About conlangs :

-> The official toki pona website

-> The language creation society

-> The wiki page about conlangs, for good measure

Hi, i'm looking for a FOSS or at least free and offline way to simulate electromagnetic fields in interaction with moving objects and electrical circuits.

(If it runs on linux, even better)

Thanks for any help :)

But then again, when it gets harder it gets easier √(•_•)√

Is asking okay though ?

Say, let's admit consciousness is the result of a physical process.

Then say this process only goes "forward" when our time coordinate increases. Just like an egg gets cooked when it's temperature coordinate increases, but it doesn't get more or less cooked when it's temperature coordinate decreases.

This would mean that going back in time doesn't result in any perceptible change, since your consciousness hasn't evolved from it's "former" state.

Thus making it possible for us to be travelling through plenty of dimensions in varied directions, only ever experiencing the brief times when you happen to be moving in increasing time. Or whatever combination of movement along varied dimensions makes it possible for you to be conscious.

TLDR: i need to take shorter showers

Hi

I would like to understand electromagnetic based mass drivers and any kind of electromagnetic balistic system.

If any of yall have some nice sources or would be willing to spend some time introducing me to the subject, i''d be more than happy.

(And if you know someone who isn't a lemming but who might be able to answer my questions, please forward my request ;) )

I second shattered pixel dungeon (there's even a lemmy sub in here somewhere) and endless skyes (runs quite well on a phone)

For those, you mainly have to worry about them climbing on top of your panels and slipn sliding/jumping which, while cute, isn't really apreciated by solar panels ;P

Fun tidbit, Sheeps, wanting to hold up to their fame have made a number on engineers trying to get them to live with solar panels :

The solar panels are fixed in the ground by posts, and when one sheep decides he's goign to walk between two posts, every sheep in the pasture wants to do the same.

The whole herd trying to squeez in there puts such strain on the posts that it ended up bending them in early tests

In the end they had to strengthen the posts and space them out more.

With cows on the other hand, they are too smart and end up tinkering with any wiring left unatended and will hapily rip out cords off of your solar panels. Better keep your wiring clean !
