could agree to forgive part of the debt in exchange for the resumption of interest payments of up to $500 million a year

That is fucking insane, specially for a country of that size. Their economy before the war would be shaken as fuck by interests like this. I cannot imagine the pain this country faces ahead.

Sounds really exciting. Honestly, I can hardly see any downsides of aggregating Rust into big projects (respecting the developing time, of course).

Behind the scenes: Biden hasn't spoken to Netanyahu in the 20 days since a tense Dec. 23 call, which a frustrated Biden ended with the words: "This conversation is over." They had spoken almost every other day in the first two months of the war.

Why it matters: Since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack 100 days ago, Biden has given Israel his full backing, with unprecedented military and diplomatic support, even while taking a political hit from part of his base in an election year.

The country is officially dead. They will never be able to even remotely pay that in its entirety.

[-] pqjke@lemmygrad.ml 16 points 1 year ago

"C'mon guys, this is the most important election yet!" - those people, every fucking year

[-] pqjke@lemmygrad.ml 30 points 1 year ago

"You are scared. You will most definitely die. But that's ok, uncle Sam wants that way." - those guys, probably

K-9 on Android, Thunderbird on desktop. I love both of them, but K-9 has some weird problem that background sync appear to be not working.

I'm currently using Thunder (it is open source, https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder) and it's pretty nice. I tried Jerboa before but I kept getting way too many request errors (probably because I was using with the lemmy.world instance tho)
