I work at a place where data quality is not on anyone's radar. We have a reporting team in our group so we do our best where we can, but combining any datasets with other groups (like marketing & sales) is next to impossible as each team is silo'd and do things their own way - think free-form text fields to tag content...

How can I politely and succinctly say the above? Also, anyone else in a similar boat?

I just went to Dreamforce last week and was told they push the tents further away from the conference while it's happening.

I don't know what it looked like before but there are still PLENTY of homeless in San Francisco and it's very sad to see.

Her entire channel is a great watch, only person I've ever used Patreon for

It's a shame. This was exactly the game my husband was looking for - Overwatch minus Blizzard

If you can't control it, don't worry about it.

Used to mostly keep me sane at work

I stopped going there when I realized it's all just sugar. All the yummy drinks are just sugar.

My husband and I started going to the co-op and getting fancy coffee beans and make drip coffee each morning. Cheaper, just as delicious (if not even better), and we don't have to go out

Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm getting old. But I want to order through a person. Not a touchscreen and not AI.

I feel like society is slowly removing humans from our everyday interactions and I don't like it.

It's up to us to keep watching the WNBA to keep their salaries raising

Palworld, I played an hour or two and thought it was fun at the time. But just haven't gone back, leveling felt like a chore instead of a grind

I worked for McDs in high school, around 2008. Big Mac meal used to be $6.08 with tax, $1 menu used to be $1.06 with tax. I went the other day and was shocked to see how much everything costs now plus I have to order via a screen (which I find bizarre, but maybe I'm just old now).

I also feel like working there used to be kind of fun. I'd take the order from the drive thru/take the money, kitchen would secretly prioritize drive thru orders (everything is timed), and window person would get the order together. Now it seems like they take 1 or 2 drive thru orders at a time and make the line wait until those are done.

Seems like fewer people working & prices went up - and I'm sure those poor folks working are making minimum wage. It's just sad all around.

Things in general used to be made to last / hard to break.

I always initially hate UI changes, will make my decision in a few days if I like it

I always find it really hard to reach out to people because I've gotten responses like this in the past. Good on you for trying - don't let the cold response get to you, not worth it.

I ran a meeting today and it didn't go as well as I had hoped. My video was delayed from what I was saying, was just overall more nervous than I had hoped to be which than caused me to rush (which didn't help at all with the video delay).

I know logically I should just take this as a learning situation and do better next time. But I can't stop thinking about it. I know I'm going to go to bed tonight and think about all the things I could've done better and not get any sleep.

How do people "change the channel" in their heads?

Crazy cucumbers (lemmy.world)

Very new to gardening. Very happy my garden hasn't died with all the crazy rain we're getting here!

Any friendly advice for these crazy cucumbers? They keep expanding! (2 squash on the right, 4 cucumbers to the left of them, then lettuce). Definitely going to give everything more room next year.

Last year I started a garden for the first time. Learned a lot! When I picked my squash last year it seemed fine, then I kept it on my counter for maybe a week before I noticed a small rotten spot on the underside. Eventually the rotten spot grew and I just composted the whole squash.

Not sure what went wrong. Was thinking -should I put hay or something under my squash when it starts to grow on the dirt?
