I would like to see further development but I always had a sneaking suspicion that its life was limited due to the fact that ARC does not come from Intel's fabs either. Like lunar lake, Arc is also made at TSMC.

Honestly always online DRM is illegal. You cannot provide a good a service. All these companies who are planting these time bombs into software and devices need to be handed a big FU and realize that they are creating the piracy they claim to protect against.

I like Valve, but I don't like them enough to believe they won't close my account on a whim for no reason one day.

This. Buying power of the average American has decreased drastically. If you worked for the last five years and your pay has changed you've technically made less money every year as the power of the dollar has diminished. If you're on a fixed income it feels even worse.

Nintendo is going to be the company that makes or breaks the legitimacy of the DMCA. If it wasn't for the DMCA they wouldn't have a leg to stand on as they've lost in court several times before.

Honestly I think they're going to start having problems in places like Europe if Nintendo can be classified as a "gatekeeper" on their locked down hardware.

The same reason a movie theater owner can't show Pee Wee's Big Adventure every weekend. Value is derived from exclusivity. Exercising your "rights" to a work means preventing anyone from having access to the work unless you are paid when and how you want.

I've seen entire projects sink because corporate sycophants make their way to the top. Often talentless, couldn't even open an IDE let alone tell you anything useful about their development cycle kinda people end up running the show. The real creatives often get turned away and the posers rise. They buy the big lie and redistribute it for profit. They are retail sellers of big lies.

This isn't something new to the game industry. It just seems like they're getting away with it more often.

This is actually how it's supposed to work. Everyone, stop buying things period! Only buy things used if you can. Prices have to come down to meet the demand. It's the only way you can claw your value back.
