Bazzite is amazing. Pretty much all Ublue based distros have been the most painless Linux experience I've had in years. The biggest problem I think most users have is the Dominance of Nvidia graphics hardware. Nvidia does "work" but it's much more unstable than the much more stable AMD driver. I bought an AMD 7800xt and I'm pretty much problem free now.

Since I have so many Nvidia cards I'm regularly testing Nvidia under Bazzite on a spare 2070super. It's impressive but it's not ready for average users.

I built a steam gaming PC for my livingroom using Bazzite, a minisforum BD790i, and a Radeon 7800xt. I love it and there is NO going back for me at this point.

(P.S. Decky Gen plugin fixes a lot of weird issues on games that support DLSS by letting you slip in far 3.1 or XESS in it's place + frame gen. I've even been able to get ray tracing running decently with this method)

Y'all, I fell for it.

I bought a Bambu X1C and fully regret it. Just sent them a return request and called their product Defective by design in my RMA. I don't expect them to acknowledge it but I figured I would send them a hefty fu first. I'm spending the rest of my afternoon downgrading firmware on this thing until I can install X1plus on it. Where am I buying my next 3D printer? Prusa? Do they have a bigger one that can print ppa-cf?

Sounds like free money for all those certificate authorities out there. Imma start my own CA with blackjack and hookers.

My vote is universal Blue and its spins like Bluefin or Bazzite

If NVK is good enough maybe Nvidia will consider dropping the proprietary driver because no one will want to use it and it will cost too much for them to maintain a separate driver.

A man can dream.

They listen and say "We hear you but the data shows you much rather have the Witcher 3 running on your dashboard and webcam more easily monetize this."

Cheating in academia is the name of the game. There is a survivor bias here assuming the other 78 students didn't cheat. They're Learning how to not get caught. Building a better trap may simply yield a better better cheater. The proof ends up being in the work.

I still think honeypots are amusing AF.

So just to put this out there. https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/

Universal Blue has some really good ideas. I really think immutable and atomic updating linux distros are the future. Most applications have flatpaks available.

Bazzite has alot of gamer forward features, has Nvidia specific builds, and even supports a SteamDeck replacement version of their OCI images.

Even though people may not like Fedora, I think universal Blue solves a lot of the Fedora style problems people experience.

There are also BlendOS and VanillaOS but I haven't tried them with NVIDIA GPUs.
