Well, I'm here and I don't know what you all are talking about. And this is sincere, truly don't understand what's the issue, could you point me to some of these controversial situations/discussions/measures?

I have a feeling that, if you ask for any specific instance, you'll get people complaining and blocking that instance for their own reasons. So, I'd let my users decide whether they block or not a user or a whole instance. For example, I don't like some of the communities in lemmy.world and I complain about it because it just feels the same as being in reddit, but having access to a different point of view is very valuable to me, so I don't block them.

I also have to add that I use lemmy with the voting system completely disabled. I hate the voting system because it shapes people's opinions to fit in some specific communities. This is why I think blocking instances should only be used as a last resort against things like blatant spam, boycotting, CP, hate speech and the likes.

I call them "free-will eggs". It sounds better in Spanish as opposed to "cage-free eggs".

I have an obsession with light. Love the golden and blue hours and I don't want to know why, it's just so beautiful to watch. Being like this I'm pretty conscious of lighting and, in general, it has become just wonderful to have that precise dim and warmth in every space for a reasonable price. Not only this, less-intrusive lighting had become something urban ecologists quietly succeeded on spreading all over the world (bat-friendly lighting, for example) thanks to the available technologies.

So, yeah... not mundane at all.

AAMOF, 2000s Jackman's body resembles comic books' Wolverine more accurately.

I use both all the time. Organic Maps rendering and navigation feels snappier, even with 2.5D support, and less cluttered, but since I do contribute to OpenStreetMap, OsmAnd is unmatched for editing and access to power tools like up-to-date data, GPS tracking, PDI editions, etc.

Unfortunately, in my country the map is not as complete as the proprietary options, so, using OsmAnd is more practical for me. As a regular user, though, I'd prefer Organic Maps.

I think he's smart and brave. A lot of smart people won't say what they think because of people everywhere checking on discourses for the smallest fractures getting offended. Smart people, in the end, will choose their battles. Bill Burr is not always on point but he does not shy away from stating his point of view. Sometimes he does it brilliantly. I don't follow the guy as much as a fan or a critic would to know why they like him or why they hate him right now. Seriously, cancelation culture is not constructive.

It's ridiculous. My friend married a Japanese woman and they had a boy. If the boy wasn't born in Japan, he wouldn't be a Japanese citizen in the future. Meanwhile, his Mexican father can't aspire to be a Japanese, even if his whole family is and they have been married for years.

Is even more ridiculous for people like this boy, since their double nationality rules are kind of weird to me. Whatever, it's just nuts.

These cars should be monitored by human beings until their AI evolves enough to be actually more secure than human professional by-the-law pilots. If a human was monitoring the car, they probably could have stopped it immediately, or even hold it before it starts dragging that poor woman.

Only if these cars can do the same or better than the human overseeing their activity, these cars will be safe enough to be offering a public service. Also, as shameful as it could be, this incident must get the most publicity because other competitors should test their AI against this specific situation as soon as possible.

I actually despise the way banking has changed. Elder people, barely familiar with making calls from a mobile phone, are expected to use their phone banking app as a security token, to say something that happens every day. And that's talking about people that can actually afford a mobile phone with internet access.

My wallet would support Steam if it had any sort of bills in it. Lenovo is a lousy company in the gadgets market. I own a marvelous Yoga Tab 3 Pro with an Intel Atom CPU and a built-in projector. An expensive device that received the one clunky Android upgrade and no source code. I modded the firmware enough to make it still usable, but God, do I hate their "support" service. Good riddance!
