This was very helpful thanks. So far so good, I've made it to 1842 and I'm still making money so far. I didn't realise that if I wasn't producing lumber / fabric / iron etc than I was just lighting money on fire.

I actually suspect something similar is happening here. I did buy the "deluxe" version or whatever which came bundled with a bunch of DLC. Initially it was giving me guidance, and then it just stopped. Like an event wasn't triggered.

Well the obvious problem with Burgerland sanctions is that they control the world financial system and global reserve currency, any other country is not going to have nearly as big of an impact to say the least.
