Comments in this thread did not take long to age very poorly
why would I buy purpose-made plastic containers when I could just get take out and reuse their shit instead
I dusted off my old VR headset and finally set aside the 67 GB of free space required on my Windows box to start a Half Life: Alyx play-through.
So far, it's great. The "gravity gloves" play mechanic is very clever and feels comfy. It's also very clearly a game that was purpose-built for VR. A lot of pancake games that were ported over to VR after-the-fact are very clumsy and the controls SUCK (ie: Minecraft, Skyrim, Fallout) but this is very clearly designed for VR from start to finish. I've not used my VR headset in like multiple years at this point and I forgot how immersive it was, even with my old Vive Pro2 headset (which I originally bought at the start of the covid19 lockdowns, knowing full well I'd be cooped up inside for a while).
It's been so many years that I've played a Half Life game I had to read through the plot / lore of the game for a refresh. Reminded me what a hugely influential game Half Life was, and also reminded me that Counter Strike was originally a Half Life mod, back in the day.
Picked up the new Tropico6 DLC. First time playing on a huge archipelago map and it’s very challenging, I dig it.
Yeah that's the only reason I saw it too lol, the wee one had a good time and that's why we went
I don't normally watch long winded youtube videos but the premise of this was irresistible. Very articulate bloke that one.
Well if you want to stroke your confirmation bias, Austerity Ecology is a fantastic ecomodernist book. If you prefer audio/video he's been on plenty of podcasts including Chapo.
He does call out a lot of de-growth folks in his book, so you could likely get plenty of other-side pro-degrowth author recommendations just from reading that.
He's also a co-author of another fantastic book The People's Republic of Wal-Mart which is all about planned economies.
I got one for Christmas last year and it is still going strong off the single time I charged it. The battery life is phenomenal.
Welcome to the club.
Yeah just some rolled up cardboard to keep the bits of weed from getting in your mouth, usually from the rolling paper package or a pack of darts (Canadian for "cigarettes") or whatever
Well yeah of course, but I was going to buy soap anyway, so everybody in my family gets watermelon soap this year
