The only Southern Baptists I know were really into demonstrative shows of family unity at church, but would frequently get into massive screaming matches where they'd kick their teenage kids out of the house. They're divorced now.

There's a certain amount of discourse in KotH fandom around exactly how all four childhood friends came to buy houses on The Alley behind Rainey Street. Apparently the canon is hazy and inconsistent, though I can't remember the details.

You're forgetting retired women.

It's still up more than 20% above what it spent most of March and April at.

I want to find one of these people who just bought TSLA at $284 and ask them what possible basis do they have for thinking the company's earnings will grow by the 6,000% that it needs to in order to start returning anything like the industry average.

Tesla could achieve phenomenal unexpected growth and increase their market share by a factor of ten and they'd still have a massively unsustainable PE ratio.

The millennial era of “work hard, play harder”

I hate to be that guy that calls everything Orwellian, but this is NOT how Fortune was describing Millenials 15 years ago

It's even worse than that - they don't just "do absolutely nothing to change that", they actively whip each other into line by loudly blaming third party voters for not giving them the votes that they somehow owe to their big money party.

I got into a long debate with someone who wouldn't accept my claim that pi is 3.

My reasoning was that 3 is accurate to the number of decimal places it's quoted to, which is all you ever can say of any given value of pi. Like, pi might not be exactly 3, but it's not 3.14159265358979323846 either, because both values still have infinity digits missing.

Sexism and racism seems like an obvious answer and one that it's easy to find evidence for the existence of. But if you break it down a bit further, sexists and racists vote Republican anyway.

Competence played a big part in Singapore's success. Lots of highly qualified people governing by pragmatism over ideology. Exact polar opposite of what we're seeing in the US.

When an influential group of powerful people make hate speech a part of their standard rhetoric, is EXACTLY when you MUST block it on your platform, not a signal that it's time to start letting it slide, you fucking pricks.
