I was literally in that struggle thread (different account) - I wasn't claiming you said certain things, I was commenting on what that thread was. Unless we're talking about entirely different threads about the same thing.

I have literally never heard of it happening anywhere else in the world. I never said American things couldn't be talked about, but talking about it like it's a ubiquitous practice, and then getting angry at people who don't understand why it's an issue, is just miscommunication, not a big disagreement. And miscommunications caused by America-centrism is a very tiring affair on the internet. Just prepend the post with "Hey Americans:" and there wouldn't have been any real discussion.

Ah, I see, what queer propaganda will be next? Picking your character's name?!

I suspect I've undiagnosed manic-depressive disorder, but either way I get heavy existential dread for 1-4 weeks straight, then reoccurring again in 1-3 months. I also get similar pressure from my industry. So I do feel you :(

We do not disagree~

This seems like the right take. It's based on expectations.

I disagree. People dislike vegans because vegans (understandably) often get angry over an atrocity that other people don't see as an atrocity and insist on being abusive to people who disagree on subjective matters.

Libs don't dislike us for getting angry, they dislike us for a range of reasons, including disagreement on objective facts, contradicting material interests, subjugation to capitalist propaganda, etc. We shitpost and get mean, but I don't see us being abusive to people unless good faith discussion has already been long tried and failed.

Plenty of other good relevant replies, I just wanna express my admiration and love for being open and asking questions. I've seen a few people from other instances show genuine curiosity like this, and it's quite heart-warming. Hope our instances can intermingle posts and ideas happily and constructively meow-bounce

Honestly I don't think I've seen many actually "pro-Russia" people in all my time on Hexbear. Pretty much all anti-Ukraine and anti-NATO sentiment seems to get interpreted by others as 'Russia good', rather than 'Russia might be best of two evils to win if this shitty war must have a victor'.

Geopolitically, since the heavily west-backed Euromaidan protests, the eastern regions of Ukraine have clearly disagreed and consistently wanted to split. Russia has spent 8 years trying to push two main demands: Stop bombing civilians in Donetsk/Luhansk and give the eastern Ukraine regions a vote on their autonomy. You could argue not Russia's business, but they're not super evil asks either. They're both things Ukraine agreed to do, twice, but never did. How long does Russia stand by while Ukraine makes false promises and kills innocent ethnic Russians asking for help? And there's no denying Ukraine has a.. questionably large scale of fascism in its government.

Russia bad. Russia absolutely bad fuck them. They should not have started this war and they're absolute dicks for it. But they and their aggression don't exist in a vacuum - the war was reasonably avoidable. Now we should be focusing on peace, not hungrily thirsting for more war that will continue to fuck Ukraine and its innocent civilians up for decades to come. Sadly, that seems to be what a lot of the West/USA/EU/NATO want.

That's my point. You need those Steam keys to get the full experience. If you pirate it, you don't get it. Therefore for some games, resellers > piracy.

[-] SootyChimney@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

If indie devs really have that preference, then they need to remove the DRM/Vendor-locking stuff in their games, unfortunately. If your game relies on eg. Steam for the multiplayer or workshop mods, then people are going to prefer resellers.

Honestly >70% of the time even Wikipedia actually contradicts their assertions.
