I had no idea that this was coming out, and it sort of makes me want a PS5... And then I check the price and I think I can wait a couple of years until it's on PC.

Yeah, they all are, even though they probably would have been fun. I'd watch Bakula as Archer again too, I just think there's zero percent chance it would be greenlit.

It's more of an issue with torrent seeding. You need to be able to accept incoming connections to seed, so you need a VPN/router to allow incoming traffic to a certain port to reach your torrent client.

So, not a problem for leeching, but if you are trying to meet ratio requirements, could be a big problem.

This is a non-issue. If you're a gaming company in the era of Proton, it makes more sense to just focus on Windows issues than to open yourself to support requests from people running any brand of Linux. Proton is just so much easier to target than standalone Linux and you can serve the Linux community / Steam Deck users without needing any actual expertise.

The patriarchy is also what sends men to die for imperialism, tells them they can't ask for help, admit weakness, or be vulnerable. It's why the ratio of suicides is 6:1 men to women in the US and men are something like 4 times more likely to die deaths of despair, take jobs that destroy their body, or get rejected from jobs that deal with caring or teaching because of biased assumptions of pedophilia and sexual abuse.

Yes, some (read: cis, hetero, rich) men are privileged by the system, and we should absolutely not discount women's experiences, but it's not one or the other, it's both.

Yeah, I was watching Potato McWhiskey and this is his take. They have metrics that show most people don't actually finish a game and that indicates a pretty big flaw in game design.

One interesting thing the devs brought up was the ability to pivot from one civ to another based on new information. Like if you discover your continent is mostly plains and horses, then maybe your next iteration looks more like the Mongols, with bonuses to cavalry. If your early conquest didn't go off, maybe you pivot to a more science or culture oriented civ.

I don't hate these ideas, it just depends on how it actually feels in game.

This. So much this. I hate what Discovery did with S31. The Federation isn't the Federation with an official black ops gestapo running around.

Also, I love Michelle Yeoh but I am way more interested in the Capt. Georgiou we missed out on than the genocidal maniac Empress we got.

I love that this exists and I think I know what I'm getting my wife for Christmas

Somebody does. Some Milton somewhere in the company will complain vehemently if anything is wrong and will possibly die if it doesn't show up.

Multiple times in my corpo experience I've assumed everyone ignored this sort of internal communique and have had people look at me as if I was skipping a message from God.

I think it's a stretch to interpret it as petty when it probably just gave Trip a bit of focus and let his 8 year old nephew shout like "that's my uncle!" or something. Real life astronauts get asked these questions all the time and they're practically deified in our culture.
