Like any of us they're just trying to reach the lowest energy state possible. If you ask me to write a class that passes the unit tests I'm gonna do it my way whether you like it or not.

Being called names and clowned on on the internet is completely tolerable. The intolerable part is people losing their jobs, losing their immigration status, being kicked out of university, being deported to fucking el salvador, not to mention all the palestinian lives that could have been saved if the media class had have taken a correct stance from the start, and all for what? So they can finally come to the same conclusion 18 months later?

tbh im not a big fan of the idea that capitalists are buddies and collude in smoke filled back rooms. Im sure it does happen sometimes but the fact of the matter is the incentives are obvious enough that explicit collusion is not necessary.

Recalling how he fired 27 of the team of 30 student workers in a sales enablement team he was leading at the time, Clark told Giz that the group now gets more "done in less than a day, less than an hour what they were taking a week to produce."'

"In the area of efficiency," he added, "it made sense to get rid of people."

If you're expecting your army of interns to be productive I don't really know what to tell you

Watched the kdrama Trigger. I am getting really tired of the villain who just wants to watch the world burn. I felt like it either could have been a more interesting commentary on liberal gun laws like in the US or it could have done a better job of leaning in to cheesy action. But no we get a fun game where everybody gets a gun and they all shoot each other for some reason. Anyway how come the people running the show in Squid Game were powerful enough to run a death game with 500 people every couple years but somehow so scared of the coast guard they have a self destruct button for their island?

startups have been doing this forever. i remember going to interviews 10, 15 years ago and they'd be bragging about their 80 hour work weeks

yeah, the fact that it was as simple as npm run db:push really strikes me that this was a timebomb waiting to happen. Lucky it happened to the AI agent and not some poor jr dev at the end of week 1.

the more i read the worse it gets. tbh very little of my concern has anything to do with the AI agent.
