Okay, I just played the shit out of this last night and am floored by how good it is. It still does have that slight input lag delay that PC versions of SMB have, which is even more noticeable after playing and beating SMB on the OG hardware this past year, but once you get used to that slight delay it isn't too bad, not perfect but still very playable and very fun. I dig the graphic upgrade and how it's a upgrade of the look of the original graphics but not so dramatic to be jarring. I honestly think it did a better job enhancing the look of the original graphics then Super Mario Maker did. The remixed songs and geographic themes of the levels were a nice welcome surprise that retained the same level layouts but gave each world a distinct theme like later Mario entries.

So basically, this is my mofo jam right now. Thanks OP for the heads up on this <3

I have tried Art of Rally, for some reason though it runs like trash on my computer. The game that does run for me right now is New Star GP which is a fun F1-style game. I also play Colin McRae 2 for PS1 through retroarch which nearly scratches the rally itch, but damn Richard Burns Rally really spoiled me especially with the shear amount of community support and content. One of these days I'm just going to have to go down the wine troubleshooting rabbit hole and get it running, there's really nothing like it.

Oh man, it's pretty sweet. Here' a link: https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=31559.0

You do specifically need the MESEN emulator to run it though, but it's so worth it and MESEN is actually a great NES emu.

Oh god, I really hope Sega Rally 2 works with Lutris on Linux. I've been looking for a good rally game since I can't get Richard Burns Rally working on my Linux setup.

Oh that's pretty cool too, although Zelda 2 was never really my jam. But maybe I'll have to take a stab at it again since it seems like a good excuse to with a enhanced version. Did you also ever see the MESEN Zelda 1 HD version with updated graphics and QoL tweaks?

Remembered I was playing 20 Small Mazes (excellent and free!) and was halfway through. Finished two quick mazes this morning. Been playing Word Play as well, I'm a sucker for word-based games. I often play Waffle and Bongo over at Puzzmo which are two good free ones.

Every time I open up Lutris I realize I have Dog of Dracula 2 (free cyperpunk parody of Blade Runner and the like, you're a vampire dog...for some reason, I don't know) which is pretty good from the hour I've played, so I'll probably be playing that tonight sometime.

The other game that I might install and play tonight is The Wreck a visual novel exploring themes of grief, depression and family relationships. I played through the first hour some time ago and really liked it, but it was another game that got put on the backburner.

There is also the intriguing Social Democracy: Petrograd 1917 in which is set after the overthrow of the Tsar in 1917 Russia, you can help several parties attain power (including the Bolsheviks) and play out how each party being in power changes the scope of history. I haven't gotten around to it because it seems quite daunting, it's old-school style text-based interactive fiction, so it's basically a choose-your own Russian history adventure. I'll get around to it sometime, I just don't think it'll be tonight lol. If anyone is interested there it is free on itch.io and there is a browser version if you don't want to download the files and a IF parser.

For sure! It's the best I've played in the series. I just beat the DS version of the original a couple months ago and decided to reward myself with the PSP version. It takes everything good about the original and cranks it up to 11. Enjoy ;)

Mushishi. Just finished the first series and started the second a few days ago. It's shot up to one of my favorite animated shows of all time. Simply incredible. Also just started Zetta Shounen which has a great heartwarming but melancholic kind of feel...and it's strange, feels an Anime with Twin Peaks vibes.

It's the worst show imaginable. And if you're thinking,"yeah, a cop show with Steven Seagal larping as a pig would be bad," trust me it's even worse than what you imagine. They literally had an episodw where they called in a tank into a residential neighborhood in a small sting operation just to make Steven and the cops look badass, but it just looked pathetic and ridiculous. If I seem to remember they got a fair amount of flak for that.

Edit: Yeah, the guy they were raiding sued: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/steven-seagal-sued-using-tank-raid-bust-alleged-204603144.html

I just had it done and it's amazing how good your teeth look and feel after they finish the process (took about 4-5 visits for me). I definitely recommend looking into getting it done. It was the first time I'd ever had it done (just turned 40!) and I'll be going back yearly now.

It's quickly become my favorite animated show of all-time. It's closest I've ever had to "comfort food" in a show. I'm always smiling like a kid when I watch it. Makes me cry sometimes too because Lois & Clark's relationship is done better than any other Superman show or movie I've seen.

I loved Legion all the way up until the end of season 2. The finale just felt like such a rush to make him into an obvious bad guy. I get that he is in the comics, but they spent the better part of two seasons showing him mostly as the good guy. There were some definite questionable things he did, but I didn't buy the slide from good guy with some issues to outright villain. I don't know if they just didn't have enough time to fully show that descent, but it really soured me. I gave up after two episodes of season 3. Although, I will say it was still worth the ride, the cinematography, effects and overall style of the show is absolutely fantastic. I probably still will finish season 3 someday, but it's not high enough on my list to make it a priority.
