Hopefully more Justin and Tawny than Alex.

There are several things like that in Fedora, which is already a good reason not to recommend it to first timers. They most likely won't know or care about nonfree codecs, they will just see a broken machine. Linux Mint understands that as a use case and has a "magic make it work" checkbox during install.

That all being said, I run Nobara and love it, but i wouldn't recommend it for new people.

This is interesting and a lot of commentary says that the reason smaller films aren't released physically is that there is too much work involved to do so at is mastering the movie for bluray would be impossible for a group of talented editors, color correctionists and sound engineers.

Personally, if anyone has any insight into the bluray mastering process I would love to learn more about it.

I mean if an outfit like Vinegar Syndrome can do multiple 4k restorations of crappy B movies every year, what's stopping other production companies?

The real issue with QWACS is the idea that the EU government requires them to be added to web browsers running in the EU. It's bad enough that France and Germany can issue those certificates but imagine Erdogan's government pushing them out.

It's not like any politician knows how the Internet works and that someone who knows better couldn't rip those certificates out, but the tyranny of the default means that governments will have more control over EU citizens browsing. That's not something likely to benefit anyone.

I can personally vouch for the Cooler Master NR200. Its super nice to build in and very versatile with PSU and GPU configuration.

The version I built for a friend had a 5600x with a Noctua NH-U9S and a 6700xt and absolutely zero issues with cooling.

Other than that, same thing others are saying, start with the case and power supply and then work backwards.

Yeah I know. It's definitely a me problem. I'm sure one day I'll come around.

It's been a long time after all...maybe my time is finally here.

Haha that's kind of been my cadence too. I had to take a break after the episode where Kai WInn became the pope and the president at the same time. Shes just too much sometimes.

Just so we can sync up, I am on the episode where Gul Dukat and Kira go on an expedition to find the lost prisoner ship. Haha.

I think it's amazing when done right.

But

Almost every time I've been to a 3d showing they have the screen adjusted wrong or in the wrong aspect ratio and it messes everything up.

I have a buddy with a home theater and a 3d projector with synchronized LCD glasses and 3d blu rays in that context are great.

I was listening to the Security Now podcast a couple of months ago and Steve Gibson spent a fair amount of time talking about the challenges arising from trying to communicate with a spacecraft from that far away. Random but fips can happen from all the crazy space radiation along the way or it can just be written to memory incorrectly because of said space radiation and you're not going to replace the hard drive on a 1977 space computer that far away from Earth.

Last time they had an issue with data corruption the communication antenna ended up pointed the wrong way and they had to "shout" the command and hope that the probe would "hear" it so that they could get the antenna pointed back the right direction.

Hard to imagine that those 2 have been out exploring space for 46 years.

Looks good. I'd go for 32 gigs of ram though if you can swing it. Also is there any reason why you want a 22" monitor specifically?

The reason this one should last is because ddr5 is new and so is the AM5 socket for AMD. AMD supported the previous socket from 2016-2022 so many are speculating that you should be able to do CPU upgrades for the foreseeable future without having to change the whole platform.
