These things are so silly. Like, do any other countries award so many of these "regime medals" to random people and celebrities?
Usually they award them to other heads of state for no reason

I know that China gives out medals but for actual shit like excellence in fields of work and such.
In Denmark they hand out knighthoods to:
Some of the artists and a few of the politicians do not accept the knighthood. Some refuse because they oppose the monarchy, other refuse because they feel that a snobbish order doesn't fit their personality.
In France we have the Legion of Honor, same shit, they give it to their friends
Which is even more fucked imo. Now my grandfather's highest military honor he got for fighting the fucking nazis is shared with some random rich asshole who was friends with Sarkozy or whatever
