Accurate, however 2 is one of the best of the series and 3 is really really boring. My other hot takes are that 4 kinda sucks as well. Haven't played anything past 12, which I would have liked if it were turn based and not an offline mmorpg

Love an RPG with literally no character or party building

You mean you're not intrigued by dialogue that is essentially "I'm the villain! Mwahaha!... but in Act II I'll say I'm a good guy! And then in Act III I'll reveal I actually was bad the whole time!!!"

Yeah, it felt kinda flat. The cool star wars ripoff stuff was already done in 2 and had basically Kaine. And you could customize your 3 party members that won't die.

I think 4 is a little overrated. I wouldn't say it sucks, but i salute your hot take rat-salute-2

I found it really unengaging. I'm honestly not big on most final fantasy games in general, liked em as a kid, not so much now. There isn't really any character or party building, which I like doing in an rpg, you have the people you have when the story says you do and they're super static gameplay wise. I didn't really care much for the story but it was also one I played later than the others and was in my late teens the first play. It just felt like a boring slog where I didn't really interact meaningfully
