Ultimately, they're probably better off avoiding poking the bear, and simply working to freeze the US out of the international scene moving forward.
It could be that. On the other hand it may be more similar to how much of the Western world is treating Gaza/West Bank Palestinians and Ukrainians - where EU nations are offering the majority of aid.
Western nations have sold their souls to unfettered capitalism and America is the centre of that cult.
