Yeah, probably a lot of Rittenhouse wannabes out there who wanna test the limits of castle doctrine.

[-] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago

yes, but this is a whole new monster..

  1. someone shoots a person who's defacing their Cybertruck
  2. they're convicted of murder because it's proven they bought the vehicle specifically to bait a victim
  3. Trump pardons them

i defy you to tell me that this isn't INEVITABLE.

[-] SmackemWittadic@lemmy.world 21 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Man I don't even think step two would happen before trump pardons them. The US is so fucked.

EDIT: As an example of what you said, a sociopath who has recently bought a Tesla is the fucking president of the US

[-] db2@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

He can't pardon in state levels yet, they're testing that in Wisconsin.

[-] princessnorah@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

What do you mean by this? My searching isn't bringing up any such cases, just Wisconsinites charged with Jan 6 crimes getting pardoned, so I'd be keen to read about it.

Edit: Did you mean Minnesota? https://thehill.com/homenews/5180269-trump-derk-chauvin-pardon/

[-] db2@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

No, not like that. I meant being in control of state government.

[-] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 months ago

Murder ia basically always handled at the state level, so Trump would not have power to pardon that crime.

[-] Delphia@lemmy.world 21 points 2 months ago

He doesnt have the power to do lots of things he is doing.

[-] captain_aggravated@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago

Tell you what's more likely? DeSantis or one of those babyfuckers will do it.

[-] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

DeSantis was supposed to be the next Trump. He's way too butthurt to help out like that.

[-] drhodl@lemmy.world -4 points 2 months ago

What does Elmo taste like, dick rider?

Makes more sense than your other musk drivel !

[-] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

may i ask which "other musk drivel" you're talking about? i've clearly rustled your jimmies, but i still cun't figure out why

[-] drhodl@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I'm particularly incensed at the one where you talk as if musk was a flawed demi-god, and that even though millions will suffer by his actions, you think he'll come good somehow. The one where you persistently referred to him as a "trillionaire". CBF searching for it right now, but YOU will have handy bookmarks to your own comments. Other than that, don't sea-lion me, sea-lion !

Sealioning (also sea-lioning and sea lioning) is a type of trolling or harassment that consists of pursuing people with relentless requests for evidence, often tangential or previously addressed, while maintaining a pretense of civility and sincerity ("I'm just trying to have a debate"), and feigning ignorance of the subject matter.[5][6][7][8] It may take the form of "incessant, bad-faith invitations to engage in debate",[9] and has been likened to a denial-of-service attack targeted at human beings.

Edit: "cun't" LOL. You have that word, along with "musk" on your brain. Unironically, they're a great match :)

[-] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

please just reply with all of this to that comment. that's where that discussion is happening.

you and i don't disagree. you're talking about a post where i mused about what we could do if we chose embracing him instead of eschewing him. i understand that you think that he doesn't deserve any grace, but is that really any reason to stalk me this way?

all that said, i love the engagement, but i really don't want to damage you if you're in a delicate state. i mean this earnestly. it's all good if you want to keep fucking around and garnering notoriety, but i'm not gaining anything from it and i don't want it to continue if it's really only going to end up hurting people.

(edit: fuck you!)

[-] drhodl@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Don't patronize me, sea-lion!

Edit: You're unravelling, sea-lion.

[-] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

do you have a patreon? i'd glady subscribe. i love hate-paying for stuff

[-] drhodl@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago

Unlike you, I don't want any of Elmo's money, sea-lion.

[-] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

is "sea-lion" the new "fetch" now or something?

[-] drhodl@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I sent you the definition. Maybe, actually read it?

[-] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

i know full well what you mean. i think it's best for everyone else to know how crazy you are, though, too.

[-] toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

if i'm the idiot that you suppose i am, then i guess i'll have to hear it again. what is a "sea-lion"?

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
