It's always shocking to me when someone casually mentions paying for a AAA game. It's like when someone casually brings up astrology. If the game is cracked day one, the game is free.
I pirate movies and TV shows but draw the line at video games. I don’t wanna run a bunch of sketchy executables on my system.
That's why you get them from official and trusted sources, like FitGirl, LinuxRuleZ, etc., and/or run them in a virtual machine or sandbox. Any media besides text files has the potential to contain malware that can run when the media is loaded.
My first pirated game was on floppy. I think I can count on three fingers the amount of times a cracked game has had some kind of malware attached to it on my system, and all of those were in the sketchy early web2.0 days. Times have changed.
I'm sorry, I just don't think the movement of big rocks in the vacuum of space has any effect on our lives.
