Oh man, someone start spreading fire ants as a cure for something. This administration would be all over it.

[-] ryannathans@aussie.zone 29 points 6 days ago

Can we leave US politics out of the science memes

[-] daq@lemmy.sdf.org 71 points 6 days ago

I'd agree, but the joke was funny.

[-] TeamAssimilation@infosec.pub 12 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

It would be funny it it wasn’t so sad.

[-] InverseParallax@lemmy.world 40 points 6 days ago

Does this joke make you feel uncomfortable?

If so, can I recommend some ants?

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Fire ant venom boosts testosterone levels when applied to the scrotum, according to my dog

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 6 days ago

If only bullet ants were a thing here, we could use those instead.

[-] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 2 points 5 days ago

What administration?

[-] DannyBoy@sh.itjust.works -2 points 6 days ago

this administration

Based on the other comment you mean the US government? Do you just assume everyone on the internet is American?

[-] Kepion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 32 points 6 days ago

Although I kind of agree with you, I feel like everyone knows when someone refers to this administration as being US in relation to extremely dumb shit at this point

[-] DannyBoy@sh.itjust.works 23 points 6 days ago

It's super annoying when the default country on Lemmy is the USA.

[-] rockerface@lemm.ee 29 points 6 days ago

The default country for anything stupid, yes

[-] MBM@lemmings.world 7 points 6 days ago

There isn't even the "this is a US website" excuse anymore, like on Reddit

[-] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 10 points 6 days ago

Do you know a dumber one?

[-] VoteNixon2016@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 5 days ago

Genuine question, do other countries refer to their current government as "this administration" or "the [leader] administration"?

In my exposure to non-US political discussions, there seems to be more reference to the majority parties or coalitions, where that's more important to politics than it is in the US with our far-too-powerful executive branch
