“Look at my new necklace mom!”
What I’m loving about this book is there’s a page or so which is like “normal people think it’s weird that we can tell individual deer apart, but seriously believe us guys, they look totally different!”
Growing up in Montana, we had a herd of around 20 mule deer on the bottom fields.
With a little bit of time you can easily tell them apart. There is quite a bit of variation in their appearance; head shape, body size and shape, ears, coloration, etc. When the bucks start growing their antlers every one is different as well.
What book is this?
Red Deer: Behavior and Ecology of Two Sexes by Clutton-Brock, Guinness and Albon.
