They gamified one of the most addictive substances? Wild.
Cig points have been a thing for a loooong time now, I think as far back as the late 80's? My dad had a billion or so marlboro points he saved up and bought a kayak with. I think most people just use them for a discount on their next pack rather than branded merch.

There was a point I collected all my friends Camel bucks and was going to get I think a pool table.
I got several items from Marlboro even though I smoked another brand. I collect from my friends or find empty packs on the street.
They did it with caffeine too!

God I remember that when I was little. There was a brochure in the soda aisle with the stuff you could get and I was all "Wow we can get a plane!" My sister then informed me it was a joke, that no one would actually drink that much Pepsi. I was infinitely upset when I found out a guy was suing because he had the points and they wouldn't give him the plane. Elementary school Belly_Beanis was screaming into the void "That could have been meeeeeeee!!!!"
It's been like that for a while. I remember being REALLY confused watching Venture Bros when Hank is talkin with Brock about "manboro miles" and spending them on a canoe. 1) i didn't know what Marlboro miles were and 2) changing the name led me to parse it as "man bromiles" and i was like what the fuck is a fucking bromile
