This is apparently in Columbus, Ohio -- a pretty major city by any stretch of the imagination.

And yet there are people who rail (geddit?) against 15-minute cities and efficient public transit that ensures no one ever gets stuck like this.

@destructdisc As a European, I find this sad. I have a dozen stores within 10 minutes of walking and I never take my car to go shopping. Having to drive everywhere is like having a paywall for almost every activity in your life.

I think the key is not living in a rural area.

My city is in the top 150 biggest cities in the US with a little under 200k people. I can't argue that this place compares to a million+ sized city when it comes to urban-ness because it doesn't but I don't consider it rural. The nearest grocery store is 15 minutes but unless I want to work retail or food service there aren't many jobs closer than about a 45-60 minute walk.
