Being aware of the actual problems in the world has not improved my life one bit. I'm far more hopeless then before. Idk what these replies are saying, ignorance was better. That's why people choose it.

I'm far more hopeless than before too but I still choose this over being some clueless little NPC. Like what would you rather be doing? Mindlessly gobbling down treats with no idea of the ramifications? Being 'apolitical'? Do you really want to be the type of person who, when they tell you Hamas is just as bad as Israel, you fucking believe them? I hate those people and believe the world would be a better place if we had less of them. If there were more people who cared and less people who were entirely self absorbed in their little lives, we could make a difference. The numbers normies have coupled with how easily manipulated they are is what makes things hopeless for us, they are poison.

would you rather think world hunger can't be fixed? that the only thing we can do against the trump administration is vote in 2028? that for the rest of our lives we'll have to deal with crisis after crisis of overproduction, underproduction, mortgage-backed securities, climate change? at least the communists know a better world is possible.

Please explain to me how we can avoid dealing with climate change for the rest of our lives. That was the primary issue I was think of when posting and by far the most hopeless, imo.

capitalism cannot handle climate change. we will keep drilling until there's nothing left to drill. socialism can at least avoid the worst of it. a better world is out there

Totally agree with you that capitalism can't.

There is enough GHG in the atmosphere right now to warm the earth to over 4c above preindustrial. That is not taking into account tipping points. We will be dealing with the effects of climate change forever. I don't know what you envision avoiding the worst of it meaning, but even the best case miracle scenario is horrifying.

i'm not saying that under socialism, we'll all be holding hands singing kumbaya and the seas will go back to where they were. i'm just saying that we can create a world where we can stop shitting carbon into the air

I agree. China plans to stop by 2060. I'm saying even if we stopped right now we are going to deal with crisis after crisis.
