MODERATORS
Part of the problem can be solved by whacking the difficulty down to easy, which is what I did. Given that the game is rather famous for its slow opener there are probably videos on youtube explaining how to get the most enjoyment out of the game. IMO it has the best story of any CRPG I've played so I really would recommend it.
