This is so predictable, libs will act like this is beyond ~~reproach~~ the pale, authoritarian, and that no previous, respectable presidents would do this. Leftists will then point out that the DoD was call the Department of War until 1949, and the libs will then “ah well nevertheless.”
Then when a liberal wins back office, they will waffle on changing it but some minor admin or procedural rule will 'prevent' them from doing anything
