I laughed at this one too. Who’s even going to check if they have a real church anyway?
I do actually want to start a church that's purely based on constructivist philosophy and rejects all concept of the atomized individual self, and get that sweet sweet tax exemption for the communes I want to build. No hierarchy, no religious dogma (other than "the animating force and sentient being of others is very very real and stems from the same root as my own"), just altruistic vibes.
The IRS allows all sorts of horrible institutions that are actually grifting enterprises to be "churches" but...
The IRS would never allow that.
