If it’s not on my phone calendar, it doesn’t exist. I put it in as soon as I’m making it, even putting my phone on speaker or using headphones if I have to call (yuck). I have calendars for work, personal, dogs, family, my preschooler, and just reminders. Dress up day for school? Calendar. Appointment? Calendar. Lesson/practice/sport? Calendar. Dog medicine? Calendar. Meeting friends for lunch? Calendar.

I do this, but also run a magic mirror that displays on an old tablet in the kitchen, right by the kettle. I make several cups of tea every day (Bri'ish innit?), so I can't miss it :)

Do you mind giving more details about this magic mirror thing?

I have an old tablet lying around, not being used, and that sounds handy.

Huh, I never realised it could be so simple. Time to hunt down some guides, ta!

Yep, that's it. The only difference with mine is that I've got the software running on my media server and the display on a tablet, rather than the traditional Pi with a screen setup.

You need some sort of computer to run the back end, and it serves up a web page that can be displayed anywhere within your home network. I think there's a tweak to the config to allow that, but it was really simple. The website is here:

In a similar vein, check out reTerminal. Using battery powered devices with eInk screens that will last for months before needing a recharge. The screen is very customizable, and very easy to implement a calendar into.

And you can DIY reTerminal devices too. I already had a 7" eInk panel that I was able to convert with an ESP32 to eInk adapter.
